Thanks Eric, both for noticing that this hadn't gone anywhere and then taking the lead and making solid head way.
For those who don't know, as I explained to Eric:
At the end of 2009, literally on the day before NYE - I moved across the country to take a new job and it has been a whirlwind ride from there. I'm putting in between 60-75 hours per week working for a large motorsports promoter. Sometimes I'm traveling across the country as well to coordinate events. So my free time has really gotten nipped in the ass compared to where it was when I dreamed up this idea. I can't complain though, being fresh out of college and sitting around with no job for 4 months was brutal.
Thanks again Eric, if you wouldn't mind assuming the leadership role on this - I, and I'm sure the community in general would be extremely appreciative.

Re: Interest Topic: BFest 2010 Drag Racing: Heads up Quick 16
Quick update.
I have supplied Great Lakes Dragway with our "Wish List"
-seperate (dedicated) pit area
-dedicated staging lane when our cars are called
-scheduled run times (subject to delays and other situations that cannot be foreseen)
-PA acknowledgement of our participation.
The reply was certainly encouraging. They will do everything possible to make our event as individual and accomodating as possible.
I will be in Chicago in late April and will be visiting the track to tie up the details.
Comments and suggestions welcome.

Damn this looks great. No way I'll be able to make it though like I had hoped for. The house deal is becoming a major PITA, as well as everything else. Can't get my orange car titled and pay the sales tax on it until it's inspected, well got screwed on parts for that to get it going and getting fined $25 a month is making me very mad (stupid missouri laws. What happens to people that buy project cars???). Social security number was wrong by one digit with the credit agencies. Got that fixed but still no credit score... Need to take off to go by places and get signed letterhead showing how long I've been there, not late, etc etc to help towards getting a loan but work is too busy I can't take off and even then they want a co-signer which isn't going to happen. I never thought it would be this hard to pay taxes on something and get a loan for which you have 20-30% to put down... yet they are giving other people I know with bad credit a loan with 0% down no problem. /end rant. Well have fun guys, looks like it will be a blast. Maybe next year I'll have everything straightened out and the orange car ready to go 100%.

Yeah welcome to the club, I had to go though all of that, but my bank stated they were not giving my type of loan to anyone with less than a 700 credit score... It's nice to have a 790IsaacHayes wrote:Social security number was wrong by one digit with the credit agencies. Got that fixed but still no credit score... But just remember, your a established person who is willing to pay the loan off, and maybe even sooner than required... they don't gain much from you with that, so why give you a loan... LOL thats how the fucked up bank system works. Gotta love that BS.

Yeah, it's just really frustrating cause the houses I wanted are sold now and there's not much left. And I'd like to get the 8 grand first time home buyer credit. That way I can put a larger down payment down, and then use the 8 grand credit to put in savings for emergency car/house repair. And you gotta love the $25/month fine for not titling your car and paying sales tax on it when they won't let you until the car is drivable and gets an inspection... how ass backwards is that?

GLD is great. Used to know Greg Angeli who worked there and was a big Mustang guy. Great track

Re: Interest Topic: BFest 2010 Drag Racing: Heads up Quick 1
Well the trophies arrived today.
They truely are unbelievable!!!
I may have out-done myself this time. (They REALLY are something that you would cherish!)
Too bad two of them will end up living in Canada (Me and Rodney, LOL) and some dude with a Quad will get the third.
OK J/K.....maybe......maybe NOT! (Not my fault the two quick ones live in my garage and will be in Chicago!)
And the Best Engineered Entry "Mr Potato Head" Award is going to blow your minds this year! Hell even I am impressed!
And the Quick 8 stuff will be fabulous if we can pull this off.
The track is being very accomodating if we can get our Shiet together.
This is FUN!!!
