B'Fest NE Drag Race classes and Information

I am having a bit of a dilema in deciding just what to do insofar as class awards for this event.

Simply put, it ends up being the same cars winning the same classes at each event.

Now if Rodney shows up it adds some excitement into the mix, and "maybe" Barry or Woody or someone steps up N/A, however it still boils down to basically the same cars in contention.

So I'm looking for "different" ideas.

A Bracket format may be doable, but that will depend on the level of cooperation I receive from the track.

Open to ideas, and as always, all classes in competition are open to Berettas only.

Do some best reaction time awards. That gives everyone the chance to win something, based on that... :D Might make it more interesting?

Could also do 1/8 mile stuff?

If you have enough cars, you could do ladders, pairing cars off with each other, each run eliminating a car from the ladder pair till you are down to 2. Never know how that might end, especially if you do the line up randomly, and the two baddest get mixed against each other early, or one has a bad run and actually loses.. *shrug

Just some ideas. lol

A random ladder or a bracket both sound like fun. However, even if I got knocked out first round I'd still want to make more passes against the clock in search of a good slip. Us 5spd guys have a little more of a challenge than you auto girls!

Oh now your gonna whine about the 5-speed making you have a slow slip... Jeesh it never ends with you guys.

I agree with Ace... Some R/T times and such or maybe who can simply dial their car in the best each run... regardless if they are doing bracket runs or not, we can keep track of the dials ourselves. And yes obviously if you get some corporation with the track we could try to set up a true bracket type race.

Also Eric if its some sort of test and tune weekend I don't see why you wouldn't be able to just go up with the rest of the crowd to try and satisfy your need of a 14.6 slip..... LOL

One Eric has no problem with a 14.6 time slip, and the other may never see one!

Of course I could always leave the 3500 at home and bring the Quad. That may open up the N/A situation a bit!

ROFL!! :burn:

The random ladder thing might be fun if we can do it on a double elimination/opposing ladder basis, where you can't run the same car twice, until it becomes mathematically impossible.

That wouldn't be hard to set up.

I will kill someone if it doesn't run better than 14.6. No joke!

Kurt can tell you how much that hurts! His car runs just fine, but that is what they run!

It takes ALOT to get into the 13's buddy!

But I have to admit I am leaning toward bringing the Quad just so you can all drool over it. And the A/C works! LOL!

Put your throttle limiter back on and get back in the 14's!

Kurt has heavy-ass brakes too. So does Gerff. And my auto 4 years ago beat their times...with manifolds and a stock throttle body!

Kurt's brakes are actually heavier than mine; but yeah. I need more practice launching to get into the 14's, which I know the car can do. I also need a 1/4 track instead of a damn 1/8 mile.

I can't see a stock 3400 with just bolt ons breaking into the 13's. In fact anything below 14.50 would be surprising, however I hope there are a bunch out there that prove me wrong.

The reality is there is a whack of J-Bodies running around up here with 3400's and I only know of one that can run 14's with any consistency, and it's got headers, a good tune, and a Bill Clark 3t40!
