Anyway. Back to the race program.

I think what would work best is a random, double elimination ladder with trophies for first and second, plus best reaction time.

Thoughts?

That sounds good to me.

Are you exempt? You'll with both first and best RT if you compete... LOL

I don't know how I would end up first.

I think either you or Rodney SHOULD win this if you don't screw up and red light or just plain get beat.

The ladder is totally random so you could end up running Rodney in the first round. Who knows? Simple luck of the draw.

But it's a double loss elimination so you have to lose twice to be eliminated, and you can't run a car you have already run against until there are no other options.

However it has been my experience with these types of eliminators that the cars you think are shoe-ins seldom end up winning.

Too many things can happen.

As far as the R/T award. Some noob is liable to nail the damn tree just through ignorance. That again is no guarantee.

Perhaps put a 1 second delay on power adder cars?

The reality is there is a whack of J-Bodies running around up here with 3400's and I only know of one that can run 14's with any consistency, and it's got headers, a good tune, and a Bill Clark 3t40!
I don't know if it will crack 13s...probably not. But it should be in the 14s all damn day. And Mike's 89 GT with a 3400 ran 14.3@96 with manifolds and a stock throttle body way back in 2005. Granted he had lots of practice, but he also had an open diff and street tires.

Oh, I didn't realize we were doing heads up style racing... Ok that makes sense then. I thought it was a bracket dial in style where he who is closer and doesn't break out wins.

Kurt cracked a 14.85 last night. It seems those road course friendly Falken Azenis like to have a few pounds of air knocked out of them. Further testing and launching will yield faster even with these giant brakes - I think 14.7s will be totally repeatable as the car sits now with a bit of exhaust work and more testing on tire pressure.

On topic more so - the more our cars become similar - the more we should differentiate for awards. It is becoming pretty obvious that the 3x00 is the way to make power - so why pit us all against each other? Not to take anything away from the Quad guys, Pat and Brad are doing good work and better times will come from them. :)

I think 3400s and 3500s should probably be a different category, as well as cars running street tires vs. cars running drag radials or slicks. The difference is either instance is enough to warrant separate awards if the participation numbers are there.

Well for this event there is only one class and it's a double elimination, heads up situation.

Three trophies (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

I'm going to suspend the Mr Potato Head Award, and I'm not sure what to do about any Car Show Awards.

Communications with the track is becoming a bit of an issue (they just take forever to respond to any messeges) however it will be a fun event.

Just got word from the track on the Tech requirements for this event.

No shorts or sandals while racing. Passengers allowed 14.99 and slower.
Helmets required 13.99 or quicker.

Jackets NOT REQUIRED on Power Adder Cars slower than 11.99

Battery in the trunk external shut-off exemption for our cars.

Can't get much fairer than that!!
