Clicking thread links

Post by scannerman »

Whenever I click links in threads it doesn't launch a new tab in my browser but just redirects my current tab. Is there a way we could get the site to launch a new tab or window when opening a link. I always end up closing out the tab or have to click the back button a ton of times to get back to bnet.

Thanks.

I do that most of the time but don't always remember. Plus it requires 2 clicks instead of 1. I'm trying to be lazy here. Haha

That's more a function of your browser than the site. You can set your preferences to do that every time. What browser do you use?

Firefox. Other websites do this automatically so i assumed it was the website that didn't launch a new window.

In a way yes it is, you can code a website to always open a new tab but some don't to keep the code length down, and complexity down too, but as Chad said you can also configure your web browser to always do that.

Open about:config (write it in address bar) and set the following preferences

browser.link.open_external set to 3 (should already be)
browser.link.open_newwindow to 3
browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction to 0 (zero)

And/or download the addon tab mix plus, lots of configuration available.
