I am going to send RettaX3 a message.. he has the 06 6 speed in his GTU.. I wonder what RPM his is at around 70 mph..

Last night I drove it for about 2 hours straight in town at work. Glad I did.. the shift lever cable seperated a bit on the trans side. I think the heat from the crossover got to it or something.

I ordered a new set of shift cables through GM to replace these junkyard ones anyways. I am going to wrap the crossover to help keep the heat from the linkage.

Still shifts.. just 2nd and 6th are funny to get into. 4th is the same way just not as bad as 2nd and 6th

I'd put the shift cable in a thermal blanket rather than try to wrap the cross over pipe, that's just a pain.

Check this out for your shift cables..

That's what is on the cables on my GT and on HeavyWoody's Twin-Cam.

Well the Beretta might not be going to Bfest this year. I was driving home from work and it started missing then started smoking everywhere with a strong gas smell.

I got 270 miles on it... I guess I will wait until Sunday to see what James says . If the motor is junk then I don't know what will happen. Money is one thing but time is another.. I have bothered James enough the way it is.. I really don't want to bother him about swapping the engine asap because Bfest is less than 3 weeks away

Nice idea! I will definitely pick that up. Didn't think about that .

Swap a Quad4 in it and call it a day :runsies:

As I told Shawn via PM, I can't say exactly what my 70 MPH RPMs are off the top of my head... Sixth in my trans is significantly better than the 282's fifth gear, but not the ".5:1 double over-drive" to be found in the Tremec T-56 six-speeds... I was a little disappointed to find out that it wasn't going to dramatically reduce highway RPMs as compared to the 282 (did my research two years ago before buying the thing  ), but it is more than just a little better too. With the torque from my SC 3800, and the very free-flowing dual exhaust I have on the car, even with five mufflers under it, the note from the side-outlets is just uncomfortable at about 75 MPH with the Muncie five-speed, and the RPMs are not necessary at all, so the F40 solves some of that for me. :pardon:. Besides, it was fun being (to my knowledge at least) the first to have it done for once. I do think Shawn may have found a far better way to get the job done and my hat is off to him for getting it done so beautifully, but that LZ9's dual-mass flywheel simply will not bolt onto a 3800's eight-bolt crank, so I had to come up with something different for my car... BTW, I've been looking around on ebay, and it looks like the cheap new ones are gone now... :Search: Overall, I would have to say that just for gearing, it is a benefit, but not necessarily worth the investment needed. But, to have a brand new tranny (for me at least) rated for the kind of torque that my engine puts out is really nice, especially since decent-condition replacement 282s are so hard to find now... I guess next time I feel the need for something stronger, I'll have to finally put my rebuilt 284 into a good home! 8)

I once again jumped to conclusions.. Mostly because out of all the cars I have owned, none of them fogged up an entire intersection with smoke like it did Friday after work.

Found out I have a stuck injector. Confirmed by my OBD2 reader and James said my car isnt eating coolant or anything.

Its cheaper to just buy another set of injectors than just buying one individual injector.

James got busy today so he didnt stay long. I was going to put the new foglight bulbs in and my new ZR6 decals on but decided to spend the day with the kids instead.

Embrace the OBD2 - The diagnostic abilities are awesome!

I got some free time later in the afternoon so I decided to knock out putting the correct ZR6 decals on.

The car needs a bath but can't believe how good these look! Especially now that the bright red is there in the decals.

Thanks again Woody90gtz for getting the design done and to 3x00modified for getting the decals made like factory with them on clear vinyl.

So how does he know it's a stuck injector from the diagnostic scanner? Just curious.
I hope that is the case for your sake tho because that's an easy repair.

What scanner does your buddy have? Can it command for an IBT for individual injectors?

The scanner didn't say it was stuck necessarily.. it showed a code for one or more of the injectors.

Its dumping so much gas its not even funny. Its not knocking or eating coolant so thats how James came to the conclusion that its the injectors.

I bought a full set of rebuilt/flowmatched injectors. Which is what I should have done in the first place instead of just throwing junkyard injectors in it.
I got the call that my shift cables showed up to the dealer so I am picking those up tomorrow

The only code for injectors that's even enabled is P1200 and the code is "Injector Control Circuit" not very specific to the injectors themselves being at fault.

What was the code he pulled?

And yes I'm being annoying and prying for information... I'm sick of seeing you get run around by others.

It could also be dumping fuel for many other issues... Bad FPR, bad coolant temp sensor, bad MAF sensor, improper MAP reading... and so on.

Jon you arent being annoying at all. I am willing to give you any info you need. Give me a few minutes, I will go out and scan it again real quick then save a screenshot of the code.
