That's not a bad weight for a 17x8 wheel (mine is just under 21 lbs)... I noticed no decrease in MPG with my setup (that's with the 245 meats too) compared to my GTU wheel/225 setup.

Dear Brian,

You DO understand that I am 64 years old and HATE damn near EVERYTHING! :runsies:

My "Seal of Approval" will get you exactly the worth of the computer logic it is accepted on, in Canadian Dollars!

But I do hate GTZ wheels and I am desperate for something else for my car, (brake dust on WHITE WHEELS?) so "OK for now from me!"

Now tell Geoff to sell me his Indy's.

Your's Truly:

Eric

Figured it'd been a little bit since my last formal update, so here goes.

After coming back from Bfest 2015 in Biloxi, I really hadn't driven the GTZ very much. I took it down the Dragon with the Mrs and the A/C quit. Fast forward to my Bfest 2016 prep a month ago and I decided I'd better get crackin'. I started with the A/C. Turns out the A/C problem was a broken connector at the compressor coil. The connector itself split from the coil body. Interestingly enough, I was able to loctite-glue it back in place. That worked like a charm and I decided to leave it and see how it did for the trip to Ocean City.

About 5-6 months ago I decided to install my Wilwood kit. Everything went find aside from one seized fitting on the passenger side. A new hose fitting on the hard line and it was all good. After bleeding the brakes, I quickly learned that I had enough play in my passenger side wheel bearing to allow the wheel to make slight contact with the caliper under hard braking. I bought some custom machined 4mm spacers and that cured the problem.

So, back to Bfest2016 prep - 3 weeks before leaving on the road trip, I decided to go ahead and replace virtually all of my front suspension. Nothing like a little pressure to really get the motivation going... haha! I decided to replace:

Struts
FE7 swaybar endlinks
Lower ball joints
Control arm bushings (Energy Suspension)
Tie Rod Ends
Inner Tie Rod Bushings

Along with installing the Addco rear sway bar, the car handles phenomenally. No more clunks, no more rattles, no more weird suspension noises. I couldn't believe how well the car handled through the twisties between TN/NC on the way to Bfest.

I put about 1600 miles on the car on the trip to/from Bfest and all went well. Temp was perfect and everything worked as it should. Very pleased that everything went smoothly. It feels like the car is beginning to shed the "WTF" moniker.

This next weekend I'll have the car at a large Cars & Coffee event (~1000 cars) and I went ahead and had the car detailed. Very happy with how it looks right now!

Next up on the list: Rear disc brakes and the header/exhaust upgrade.

You should probably replace that front wheel bearing (or both) since that's the only thing that could cause the play issues you have.

I will at some point - The wheel bearings were replaced with new ones in 2013 and have less than 4000 miles on them.

Wheel bearings can go bad that quickly; I've had it happen.

I just don't like bandaid fixes, that's all!

Oh, the spacers weren't necessarily a Band-Aid fix. Even though the driver side never touched the caliper, it was still way too close for my comfort. With a 4mm spacer, it's just barely spaced out of harm's way without kicking the wheels out to where it's noticeable. Before too long, I'll buy some new bearings for the front. I'm just not sure what we've determined to be the "good ones" these days.

Try some Moog. Had some TRW's die in just a few months, so second on the "can go bad quickly". I always blamed myself on not replacing the seals, still it happened way to fast to be just that.
Car looks too sweet by the way. Makes me sick(lol).

I still have Timken on my car up front but I'm also running the heavier duty N-body bearing so maybe that's why I don't have issues.
