That's great man, all you have to do is help build a pole barn and you get a great paint job and an expert to do it. Need some help(lol)?

lol

I was already told that for what we are doing to this car for the body work, probably be around a 3 grand job anywhere else.  Dent removal, rust repair, etc.

I'd bet it would be that much, if not more.

Finished the Fog Lamps.  Assembled and tested, they work perfectly!

Haven't really done much to the car the last couple days, everyone has been... Blah, with the weather being crappy and the last weekend being a holiday.

Have to run around a bit tomorrow, then I am going to crack down and get the sanding done.  Spent most of today reloading a computer I sold in March.  I hate Vista 64.  But I got it fixed.

When will you get to the tail lights? I don't have much love for Vista. I went with XP 64 for my new computer, I may go with Vista later just to run my directX 10 when there are more games that use it.

Tail lights?

Ummmm..   Well, all I plan to do to those, is a bit of paint work between the upper and lower lenses, cleaning, polishing, and so forth.   Something similar to what I have seen done on other Beretta's, but I haven't seen it done exactly the way I plan to do it.  *shrug

Of course the entire exterior lighting will be all LED, aside from the headlights and fog lights.  Even the license plate bulb will be LED.

So the paint is going where the reflectors are on the tail lights and the filler? Are you going have to put a clear coat on it?

Yep.  Going to have to wetsand or use a red pad on the areas I plan to paint, put in a lighter color base coat (primer) then hit it with color.  The areas of the upper filler where "beretta" is will be painted as well, then will go back, paint the letters red again that match the hue of the reflectors (the letters used to be red when I bought it) and then clear coat.  Probably will use a very small homemade roller to do the tops of the letters.  Will be easier than a brush.  lol  Going to leave the reflector strips as they are..  Well you will see how it looks when it is done.  Should be good.

Yea, I'll have to see it when it's done. I think that I have the idea though. The filler panel will look like a body part, right? Kinda like the solid grille up front? The Beretta letters were red? Wow, I didn't know GM did that!

Yeah, they looked like the way it is done on this car:

Mine used to look just like that, but the paint faded from the letters.

Was that just a Z-26 thing?

No idea.  Mine wore off over the years.  Not sure I will be putting back the same shade of red, but it will be red again.

Getting a lot closer!

Pictures for all of you!

We ran out of time to paint it today, but plan to paint it tomorrow afternoon, providing things go well.  Just a few simple things to finish and we can shoot it.  WHOO!

The new paint looks a bit heavier with the metal flake than the old paint, but the hue and color looks pretty dead on.  I like how it looks though..  A LOT.

Stay tuned!!!!

Vary straight body, not much primer/filler there. What, no news paper masking? Only the best for this car! Sounds like the paint will hold up for many years.
