Just thought I'd put up a few pics of the 94 which hasn't been plated or driven since 2003.

Just a little teaser... the next engine to go in it; after it's been rebuilt of course.  This is a project that's going to take a very long time cause of the lack of $, but I do have a starting point now.

Yeah, it's gonna be a lot of work.  Lots of cutting to make room for the driveline and welding for a support frame.

I have a GM 10 bolt rear end I just have to get from a friend too; he's building a Camaro and putting a Ford 9 inch in it so he said I could have the 10 bolt if I just came and picked it up.

Gonna go with a TCI t-350 trans I think.  The hardest part is going to be getting the steering and suspension right.

Like I said; this is gonna take a while. ÂÂÂ I'm just graduating this coming May so I'm sure money will be tight for quite some time after that.  As soon as I start getting spare cash I'll get a real jump into this project.

Thanks for the info; one of my friends had pointed me in the direction of a steering assembly but this is the first one I have seen that is made to fit an L body.    Most of them you see are just universal so you have to do fabricating to make them fit.

That one is a bolt on, and funny to say, you could use the Energy suspension poly control arm bushing kit in it.

Yeah, very cool that everything is taken care of and all you do is bolt it in.  1500 bucks seems a bit salty though.  Still, it'd probably be worth it just to avoid the headache of fabbing.

Just a couple more pics.  I got all of the interior except for some of the dash stripped out over break and I got my 350 on an stand in the shop finally too.

I was gonna get a GM 10 bolt for nothing from my friend, but it has 3.07 gears and isn't posi.  His brother has one out of a 73 Chevelle that has 3.55s and a locker already in it and he only wants $150 for it so I'll probably get that over Spring Break.  I just didn't have the money to pick it up after the holidays.

Just when I got started stripping it out.

The 350 on the stand behind it in the shop.

Nah, I just had the rear and passenger seats out before.

I was gonna start tearing into the engine compartment but I'll probably have to move it so I decided against it.  Easier to drive it to a new garage than trailer it.

If you are serious and plan on doing it right, you need to get ahold of Smith Performance. www.smithperformance.com (as noted)
Fred is a great guy. He's considered a GOD in Super Stock circles in NHRA and IHRA.
He literally invented the SS/GT classes.
They have everything you will need as long as you can weld.
His shop is about 30 minutes from me, and the work they do is not only unbelievably well done, they have won countless "Best Engineered Awards".
Here's the kicker. They are NOT cheap. But you get what you pay for.
Have a look at his site. Nothing but the best.
Have fun.

'92 3500 GT gone and not really missed. It was fun. Documented 13.47 N/A.

EDITED to add stuff

I'm actually planning on utilizing as much of the existing car as I can (meaning it will still be a unibody) in order to have a vehicle that looks as stock as possible (given the condition of what I'm trying to do). ÂÂÂ

I do plan on using that front end assembly that was pointed out by Boner though because that'll save a ton of headaches.

I'm not going for a pro racer build here, I just want to do something different.  The plan is to build that 350 to somewhere in the realm of 375hp and bolt it to a TCI built t-350 3 speed then back into the GM 10 bolt rear end.

One of my friends Nathan is an engineer and another is a welder, both will be heavily involved as well as myself.  Between the three of us we should be able to tackle whatever problems pop up.  We think we've got the rear end mounting sorted out but it'll be hard to tell before I actually get it cut down and then under there so I we can see what needs to be done.

With any luck the only things that will leave the shop are the engine, and the axle, which'll have to be chopped to width.  Fortunately there's a guy in my town who does axle shortening and he's very good.

I've pretty much got what I want drawn up in my head with bits and pieces on paper.  It's really just a matter of money now; depending on what happens when I get out of school this could be done anywhere between 6 months and a couple of years.
