Alpine D310 dvd player installed finally

Post by Ribz80 »

Man this took forever. Weeks and weeks of waiting for it to come in. I am proud of the purchase as it was made with my first real check from a real career after graduating.

The picture quality of the screen is great, it wont show in a pic how good. The sound quality is amazing. I also love how a screensaver of blue gauges I downloaded from Alpine matches the rest of my blue in the car.

I bought Caysons mint-ish garnet dash this week.  So some carpet, tint, removal of that white HVAC overlay and audio refreshening and I will be done inside.

Yeah, this is all your fault!   I got all excited to buy your D300 for $200.  When I found out it was wrecked I was bummed for a week.

Then I got the job and made up my mind that I would buy a new one with most of the first check hehe.

One of the Blade movies... excellent.

I'd be afraid of hitting the screen with the shifter... or the screen angling back too far and hitting the HVAC vents.

None the less, I'm glad you got rid of that ancient Pioneer deck... Alpine rocks!

Nothing like taking care of the essentials first!

Looking good man, though I'm not a big fan of that particularly mounting location, but Beretta's are kinda limited in that respect.

With the screen out the shifter is close.  It doesnt hit, but my hand did in 3rd because I was shifting from the top, so I changed it so I hold from the side.  It doesnt effect anything else.

My shop said they are willing to do something custom to solve the problem.  Down the road I may have them do it.  For now its fine.

What's with the guage mounted on the top of the dash?

Its a 3.3/4" tach.  My guage cluster tach sticks and freezes.  I bracket raced quite a bit and it was no good for consistancy.

The Autometer is dead on accurate with a much more precision operation and not to mention a programmable redline.

Hey, who stole my battery!  Needs some acetone to clean up the rust. I wonder what will go in its place?

NO, thats where the Flux Capacitor is going:)

OK, not really.  Moving the battery is about the only way to mount the turbo and have room for it.

Despite my count, I am no post whore and didnt need to create a WHOLE NEW thread for two pics.

Just because you are heading down South doesnt mean your IQ should dip south with it :P

As an update, hopefully I will follow you in getting a new job.   I got the call from Hartz for another interview which is likely to make a final offer and details.   Yay for a 5-8k raise and normal 9-5 hours!
