If I ever get the fuggin thing there.

Ended up having to swap gas tanks so I could use my 95 exhaust & fuel lines so I had to pull the rear suspension out. Once the exhaust was mocked up you can really see how low the header hangs. When I had no front suspension installed it looked fine...

I put the 95 tank in and all is well. I had to splice the connector to match the 91 plug, but all the color codes were exact so it was easy. I mocked up the exhaust, shortened one spot by an inch, and all I need to do now is clean it all up, weld on an extension with a flange to my header and shoot it with some high heat flat black. It's a good thing I swapped tanks too, cause the 91 tank never would have fit the exhaust, and it was missing a heat shield.

I also ran to the parts store 30mi away to grab all the brakes hoses and a bunch of other misc stuff that I planned to install today. That didnt happen... So it really doesnt look like I got much accomplished, but here it is:

I had to muscle it pretty good to even hook the ball joint up to the knuckle, and it binds at ride height. So I have to make a call to The Driveshaft Shop on Monday to see what they can do to fix it. In the mean time I pulled the pass axle from my 95 (which is an Advance Auto jobbie) to slap in there until I can get the good ones straightened out.

Did they just make them to standard specs or did you measure for them? I measured the length on mine at ride height and they fit perfect! The passenger side ended up being about an inch longer than the driver side.

Progress is looking good though!

Oh, and the newer exhaust routing is way better... That 90-93? style is nasty.

Car was in a million pieces when I ordered, so I left the specs up to the them. They must have done equal length, that would make sense why it's the driver's side that is binding.

Going by your picture they could ALMOST pass as equal length, but I'm not quite sure since they are positioned opposite each other.

The axle has been sent back and now it's a waiting game until I receive the new one.

I did get the shift cable retaining bracket installed and now the cables rest on the header, so I need to figure out a way to move them. I also got all the soldering and heat-shrinking done for the electrical, but that's about it.

I havent been under the car at all the last couple days because I've been sick as balls and didnt go to work. So the exhaust is still not finished and the rear axle is still sitting on the floor. No paycheck and no progress FTL.

I'm getting to the point now where I can breathe again. Once in a few years I get a nasty cold that stirs up my asthma... but I'm mostly over it now I think. Hopefully. So here's a couple pics.

The cockheads at Northeast Fab have been dicking me around and said it would be another week or two before they got my bracket done. So I did it myself with the help of my supervisor at work, he's a good dude. Freshly milled 3x00/5spd bracket out of 1/2" billet aluminum. Once I got the engine in lined up correctly and the dogbones hooked up it helped me with the ground clearance on my header collector too. Woo woo!

In the next couple days I should have my front seat upholstery from Softtrim, 3400 chip from SuperDave, LED 3rd brake like from Ace, and axle back from Driveshaft Shop. With those and a couple zipties to temporarily mount sidemarkers I should be able to drive it!

It lives!

Video: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... D=58708455

My battery sucks balls and was having issues turning the starter over so I had to rig it with jumper cables. I need to replace it anyway because I think it's too tall to clear the hood.

I do have a pretty annoying squeal, that is probably either the throwout bearing or input shaft. It's something clutch related because the pitch changes with clutch engaged & disengaged, The trans has no lube in it right now because I need an axle, but I just wanted to light the engine and make sure it would run. So I'm going to wait to restart it until I have my axle (Wed or Thurs) and hopefully that issue will be gone.

It was a nice day today because I got a dew strip from Mike Morris, my OBDI chip from Super Dave and my upholstery from Softtrim Concepts.

GAAAAAA look at that hairy beast!

Just starting it with no lube in the trans is UBER BAD!!! Whats wrong with you? Even in neutral the trans internals are spinning like a MOFO so I bet there being no fluid in there was the noise, metal to metal gear with no cushion is going to make noise.

Maybe if you had the clutch pushed in it would have been better, but still a bad idea.

Well glad its running at least. I just bought tires and I'm worried about getting those on before Bfest.... and you still have no bumpers... LOL my issues are nothing compared to yours.

On the bright side my bumpers are still gray and not pink!

I'm hoping that's all the noise is. No big deal. Tonight I'm planning on installing the side windows and all the trim & mirrors, etc. and if I'm lucky, getting both front seats done. I still have to bleed the brakes too...

But then it is movable under its own power!

Made some good progress tonight. Forgot to buy a new battery... whoops. But I did get the pass window and all the trim, etc installed and the pass front seat upholstered. For anyone who was wondering, Beretta window trim looks awesome flat black. I really like it.

Those Z04 seats are a fucker to assemble, but George did an awesome job stitching them, with all the right reinforcements for hog rings. I'm impressed. I still need to hit them with a steamer (not a cleveland) to smooth out the wrinkles and bring the foam to life. I also have to hit the plastic covers & adjustment handles with some black and put them on. All in all not a bad night though.
