So...remember this:
Image

...it died on the way back from Chicago and now looks like this:

Exhaust has been 'upgraded' to the 3400 style with the rear 'header' manifold and a full 2-1/2" exhaust. Suspension is now riding on fe7 springs and new struts and shocks.

Upcoming modifications are this:

...a 2-turn SCX steering rack, 92+ brake 'upgrade', 1.6:1 rocker arms, and a slim cooling fan to better clear the new exhaust. I am also going to be doing some data logging to help fine tune the WOT-Tech chip that it has.

should lighten up the car a bit and between rockers and a sweet 5spd swap will def make the car that much quicker

That 282 bolts in? I thought it needed mounts welded in.

No mounts to weld in...get the correct 5-speed brackets and mounts and it bolts right in.

I got all my 5-speed stuff from an 89 or 90 Z24.

I love how engine stands double as tranny stands, even thought they are not made for it :D hee hee Works great to get them all cleaned up.

Ron, im gonna have to open up with some time off to come help you do the swap. Its either that, or you come down here with the parts and we will get it done one weekend. We could then throw your old trans down the side of a cliff and watch it tumble to peices :D

Now that might be fun!!! I hate it more and more everyday i drive it. It's only a matter of time before it bites the dust - it slips into second and don't even get me started about the TCC solenoid!!!

I am definitely going to need your help. I need to crack the case before i do anything. I believe that it has been already opened once and they used the wrong sealant when putting it back together. I also need to still some parts and pieces (axles, clutch, mount, left side subframe) before i attempting anything.

Actually, i do love my auto, just frustrated with it. I've been debating for months on whether to do the 5-speed swap, rebuild the 3t40, or go get and rebuild the 4t60HD out of the TGP in the yard by me. The only reason i am leaning to the 5-speed is because i already have the majority of the parts to do the swap and they are hella fun to drive (thanks Geoff). But i guess i could sell them....
