Well the progressive controller works like a charm... Pretty sweet addition and I think it's going to help immensely at the drag strip.

I love how it's also a wot switch that runs off the TPS.

Oh and funky tidbit... If you hook up a standard tach to the wire that feeds a 96 dash tach you need to set the aftermarket tach for a 4 cylinder. I guess gm picked a standard and went with it so they could have the same dash electronics for every model. When the rpm module was set for 6 cylinder it was reading too low.

If I tapped off the icm like 95 models did I would have to set it for 6 cylinder, I know that because back in the day I had an aftermarket tach in my 95.

Spent the weekend up at Epping for some racing... brought the camper and stayed over for free... would have been a bit better if we had planned more for the cold but oh well.

Playing with the GoPro

Aparently your not allowed to have a GoPro on your car at this track... Not sure what the deal is but it says no photo of video beyond a certain point in the staging lanes... I got away with it ONCE on the window... After that I just put it up on the sunroof gas when I was passed the NOGOPRO nazi.... I'll get those videos up to youtube later.

Times for the second day (sat slips are in the forester I believe)
Did some N/A pulls to try and sort out some fueling issues I was having... Still never got the launch right, would peak at 16-17 AFR shortly after leaving the line then drop to the 12/11's when the nitrous kicked in.

Well at least the damn thing is consistent as hell! THAT says a lot about the tune.

And the nitrous adds a nice kick in the arse.

How much nitrous is it getting off the line? 60" times really pick up.

However is there a certain shade of green you wait on? ROFL!!

Nice runs.

Yeah reaction time was all over the place... Honestly I'm not trying to dial that in right now... I'd just like to get the tune down and find that sweet spot for the nitrous... On the 60' I'm not positive. I'd have to look at the log and see how long I'm at 100% throttle before the a/f goes richer, that's the only sign I have that the nitrous is enabled... I may send a signal to the DHP box in the future so I can log it but at that point it's only supposed to be 15% of the shot and it has a 1.2sec progressive step up, SO it shouldn't see the full shot before the end of the 60ft...

I still need to get a rhythm going when approaching the line... I realized that I can pump the brakes up on the first stage and then load the converter to around 2k to launch... But a few times I just had too much going on in my mind and messed that up. I don't go enough to really get that good at it either... Damn track being 2.5hrs away makes it a camping trip, But this time even with the cold Amy said we need to do that again because it worked out really well having the camper. Wake up to them prepping the track, roll out of bed and warm up the car then race... its nice. She even said head up Friday and they let you in after 9pm for free after street night is over, find a spot setup sleep then wake up sat at a decent hour and get ready to race... none of this leaving at 6am to get there for gate opening time.

I have some plans for this winter. I need to go through the trans again because the converter TCC clutch is garbage... slipping like a mofo now so that needs to be fixed and upgraded to something better. I also need to firm up 3-4 shift and 2-3... and maybe tighten the 2nd pack so it shifts quicker not necessarily harder though. And then onto the motor, REALLY contemplating a full 3500 for next year. I mean my setup has at least 70k on the pistons/rings/block/crank. The bearings were swapped to Clevite though. I feel that with the full 3500 and compression addition I might be in the 13's n/a with the rest of my parts. and then who knows with the direct port setup that I plan to do, Might be more consistent 12.6's or even a 12.5 if I'm lucky.

Well it's picking up almost 2/10ths in 60' on the nitrous. That is HUGE!

So something is going on.

And there is something going on with the MPH.

ET's are very consistent, but the MPH is all over the place.

I had wheel spin a few times and I was trying to find a lean spot leaving the line so there were changes to the a/f ratio a few of the times, Also some of the runs it hit the limiter on the 1-2 shift so yeah not sure if all or any of those combined things could have caused it. The 106mph run I had JUST swapped bottles over and the pressure was not up to 1100 like I typically run at, so that could have been a straight up HP drop due to that.

I don't know if the 3500 will get you a 1/4 second N/A, over what you have, but you might get close.

It likely won't help the Nitrous times as much as it will N/A. A high 12.5 maybe on a perfect day.

You still have to be able to launch it.

My best 60' times were high 1.80's with what I considered pretty much the perfect combination of converter and gearing. I think the 1.871 at Chicago was my best.

If you are having traction issues now, it's not going to get better unless you perhaps consider slicks, and then breakage may raise it's ugly head, LOL!

Still pretty impressive.

Traction issues don't arise until the nitrous is engaged and I believe that was me being a bit greedy and bumping the starting percentage up to near 20%

I basically have slicks or very close to that.

I need to just go find a place that I can do some 1st to 2nd gear pulls from a stop and beat the tune down off the line... But the bigger issue is getting traction while trying to do that... With the strip so far away it's hard to set out time to do that... and then when I do get to go the lines are just nuts.

Can't change my gear ratio anymore, at the limits on that with my setup. So honestly all that leaves me is to attempt to make a bit more power with the engine to get into the 13's again. I mean I did it before with this car, Granted it's gained weight from that point which didn't help but I think I can get it back in that direction. I swear the last time I was up there last year possibly I was able to get 14.05 or something... I just can't remember where or if I posted that slip/time.

One of the 12 second runs... the only time I got the camera on the outside.

Yes I red lighted... lol Exactly why I'm only in test and tune right now... Too bad with r/t and not consistent enough.

haha, Damn these v6s sound like crap opened up!

Looks like a great weekend. Camping over has got to be so much better.

Your RTs look about like mine, I gotta get my rpm where I want it and go a little easy on the clutch. My auto RTs were pretty good back in the day, but that's a long time ago now. And old age hasnt hit me quite as much as you. haha

The company that makes the Raptor 4L60e claims a 1sec faster time in 4gen F-bodys with a raised first gear. Not sure what that would be for a 60 v6, but the close ratio has got to help.
Yeah I'm on the soap box again! Well I am talking to a master trans builder. Seems like it would be easy for you to do if you can get the parts.

4L60e parts won't fit a 4T60e, completely different setup. There is no way to change the individual gear ratios in our transmissions unfortunately.

Why does the video not load and play for me?
It'll load it up, but just keep ''circling'' about.
