1989 Beretta Base Michigan

Post by jking18 »

Hi everyone. My name is Josh and I live in South Haven, MI. My Beretta was bought back in 89' from Denooyer Brothers Inc in Kalamazoo, MI. It is a Base model with the 2.8 Multiport and 3 speed auto Transmission. When I bought the car it had 77,770 miles on it. I paid $1,500 and I am the second owner. Pictures are on my Photobucket account: http://s1220.photobucket.com/home/Berettagt89

I just made a list of the things I will need for my swap. I wanted to add a turbo but I really should stick to one project at a time. Maybe I'll create a budget the turbo next year. Anyway, here is my swap list.
3400 Engine-Found one for 350.00
4T60 Trans- 140.00
Custom Mount- 45.00 for materials
Throttle Cables-10.00
Radiator Hose (Pontiac Montana lower)-20.00- NEW
EGR Adapter-50.00
Alternator w/ bracket (optional)-33.00
Ignition Module Bracket-10.00
MAP Sensor and Hoses-
Steel Power Steering Line (94 GA 3100) - 10.00
3X00 Power Steering Pump w/ no electrical connections- 25.00
Exhaust Manifold Custom Downpipe-35.00
Coolant Temp Sensor (3 wire)
Coolant Hoses, Pipes, and Tank- 60.00
Stock Size Serpentine Belt- 25.00- NEW
Fuel Line Brass Compression Fittings 3/8 and 5/16- 5.00- NEW
Quad 4 Throttle Box and cables- 25.00
Shifter, Cable, and Mount from 3T40- 30.00
3400 Swap Chip- 150.00- NEW
Lower Intake Manifold Gasket- 50.00- NEW
For some reason I feel like i'm missing something.
I will be adding the prices of these parts later when I find them out. Most of the prices are from the LKQ yard. Any thoughts?

Nice looking base! A true survivor! I sell used parts for a living, and most of my sales are by request! If you want me to source any of the parts in your list let me know via PM and we can come up with a price and a timeline! Some things I may already have! Welcome, and hope to see you at Bfest 2012!!!

That would be cool. I just thought of one other things I was missing........the various fluids the engine and transmission uses and some of the tools I am missing. Where is Wisconsin Rapids? Will you have to go through the UP to get to Traverse City or around the lake?
edit: Could you find a quad 4 throttle box? I havent even heard of one of those until I saw the swap thread.

That is a very clean car, especially being from MI. I'm originally from Holt, MI (as is my Z26). Welcome aboard, and feel free to ask questions if you need anything. Hope to see new faces at BFest 2012!

Car looks amazing very clean.Nice and simple too no chrome rims or stickers all over your windows.lol
I wouldn't spend 3 hundred on a engine.Find one with really low miles the less the better.I found mine 4 years ago for 750 with 22xxx miles. They even dropped it off for me at the shop=)
