No, I was actually glad, they were in better shape than I pictured. No worries!

Well, lets see. I needed a horn, as the horn is completely dead on the base, so I bought another of these:

I have one on the Z already, and like how it works, so the base is getting one too. Makes the deer jump out of the road! lol

Radiator I bought:

I thought it was a good price. Next up is to hit the LED site and see what I can get in trouble with there. HA.

I like my Hella Supertones in my Legacy. They are 118db too.

Did you add them, or did they come with it? I have been happy with the bad boy horn I have in the Z, it works great!

The originals had rotted, apparently so have these.

OH. That reminds me. I found out today why the wiper fluid was empty. Apparently it leaks! I was trying to fill it and it ended up running out onto the ground. So when I pull the front head lamps and stuff, I will have to fix that too I guess! lol

Update on the build:

I now have a hood. Found one in a yard up here in Ontario. Just got done swapping it onto the beretta while at the yard. Had to swap the inner backing, mine was better. They had only 2 beretta's and one corsica. Not a whole lot of parts, but there are things on them, if people NEED something. I also pulled me an upper filler while I was there.

Also pulled a couple items for the 03 van, so the total was 100 bucks for everything. Saves me a drive! LOL

I will have pics later guys.

Wow quick turn around.
I still need a plastic passenger mirror in good shape if you see one. I have a new early metal mirror in the GM box if you know someone that needs one.

I added the Hella Supertones.

There may have been on out there. I need the mirror base plate for the driver side. As for turn around, well, I was just happy to find a hood someplace that I didn't have to drive a far piece to get it!

Yeah, I looked those up. Interesting. Cost a bit more I guess, but not much. These are air horn based, those are just electric correct?

air horns! do it! i have a set, but its the cheapy set, and sounds too high pitched... train horns are the way to go. my kit was like $30 on sale, dual trumpet, small dedicated momentary air pump, and air hose and manifold for the trumpets to screw into all included. does work to scare other drivers out of your way though.

Already getting the air horns, as mentioned previously. Have the same one on the Z too. And they don't sound too far from factory either. But not the beasts you describe, I don't need them that loud, that is what my siren is for!

Tomorrow, plan to make time to work on the decklid prep and maybe headlight prep. I have to redo the lenses, badly pitted from normal use, plus thinking about losing the 3 stands on each one. Never did like them. They are only there so you can set them on a flat surface face down and not have the lens touch the surface anyway. Part of manufacturing, once on the car they are annoying, as they tear fibers out of your wash mitts! LOL Grind them off, make them flush with the rest of the light as I rework them and what not. Going to separate them, fix them, and reseal. :D

Decklid just needs cleaned, little rust work done, then prepped for painting and painted. Simple right? lol Then it will be looking like a true base again.

Not sure what else will get done, depends on weather. Sadly.

Actually, those small nubs on each headlight is how they were adjusted in the past. There was a small stand that had some sort of measuring tool on it. There were small pieces that protruded from that and fit around the nubs on the headlight. They were somehow adjusted to the precise measurement.

I know my description sounds a bit crude, but I was shown this by an auto body man of 30 years once.

Correct, but they were actually guide pins for a suction cup level. They look like a tripod. One leg attaches to each nipple on the headlight and each has a corresponding pair of levels. One level for up and down and one for side to side. These were common place and commonly used at GM dealerships in the early to mid '90's when I was a pro tech for GM.

All you had to do was install the tripod, make sure all levels were set correctly and walaa, headlights aimed without ever turning them on! :D

/\/\/\ Exactly!!! Much better explanation than I could come up with.

Eh, doubt it much matters. One of the nubs is broken off on one light anyway, hence the reason I was thinking of doing this. Once all my parts finally arrive, I need to start prepping stuff.

Sick this week too, and that isn't helping. Got the rear ashtray from Summitbalt today, no problems. Also got the new horn already today, that thing arrived very fast. I also now have 1 and a half sets of clear fillers. But I really need a nicer upper one. The two I pulled last night, need some work. The bottom filler has over half the mounts broken on it sadly. The upper one has a twisted mount and a small chip on one corner. Both are filthy. But I got them on trade, I set the guy up with a complete tail out of a 94/96 base. He had a broken tail light on his 93 white base/blue interior. Nice car, but needs some serious TLC. Same guy that owned the red base I bought, so I gave him the tails out of the red base, along with the lower filler and an upper filler out of the 96 that I robbed the hood from.

:D
