Around 11000km since complete restoration was finished in 2010. Never during Winter of course.

I've taken her out for the first time after a full year in storage, and the Quad started just like it always does. I gotta say, it does make me happy everytime. Taken out of the long sleep, she got an oil change and runs like a champ.

I've been improving some little things since such as stronger coloured LEDs for the clear sidemarker lights.
Also I finally made bright enough custom blue LED lights to go into the instrument cluster without modification. I also tested it with white lights, they sure are brighter and looked better than the stock bulbs as well, but I like the blue look for my blue car.

If you turn the dimmer down, does those dim at all? I've tried like 10 different LEDS and none of them got good results, but that looks good, care to share a link for the leds?

Ditto, those look great. Did you use bulbs in the original spots, or did you some custom work?

I'd like to know what you used and where you got them from, because that looks awesome!

I have to admit, the dimmer switch does not work on this particular car, its just always full brightness. With the stock lightbulbs I need that anyways (and on both cars), because as we know the instruments are not very well visible at night. Turns out after the LED-modification, I could actually use a dimmer and turn it down a little if I drive at night.

Technically, LEDs are dimmable, however in a more narrow range than bulbs. I am able to dim them with an adjustable power supply, tested when they are built in a tachometer outside the car. Unlike bulbs, LEDs just stop working if the voltage drops below forward bias (no current flows through). That voltage is 3.4~4V for blue and white LEDs (per chip). As all automotive LEDs are rated for 12V and the generator produces some 14.4 volts, there should be enough reserve per LED before the voltage drops below forward bias and allow a wide enough dim range. Also, there is a visible difference in brighness whether they run on 12V or 14V. Therefore I would assume it also works with the dimmer in the car, but I can not verify this for now.

I use these ones, tested each blue and white. White obviously gives it a stock look, but more bright and fresh.

Its pretty much the ones who are imported over here, we dont get the whole selection sadly, thats also why I can not buy any with the right socket from the beginning...
There is no custom work involved on the tach, all it need is swapping the bulb sockets. The wires are welded (well its no soldered) to the contacts which need screw-driver force from the back, before the bulbs slide out of the socket easily. Then I remove the plastic socket of the LEDs and push only the electronics assembly in the socket, to maintain regular bulb hight. The leads need to be soldered afterwards.

Well, the LEDs I am using are designed to give a homogenous 360ish degree light similar like classic bulbs, but as I covered all the side LEDs with a paper so only the front facing LED would lighten up the tach I could not see a big difference. So I was wondering if someone ever tried these??

I need to dig up a picture of at least 10 different LED models I've tried.
I've also tried ones that very closely look like the ones you are using, but didn't provide good results on my car, maybe it's the weirdo eurospec blue cluster...

I've ordered my leds from dealextreme.com. Btw I also know ones that fit in base\GT bumper lights and flashers and give stock light tone, just lot brighter. :)

My baby spent 2 years in storage unfortunately. But she is fine, finally back in action: Started right up and runs absolutely sweet with a tank full of new gas. Its a pleasure to drive, as always. It was a piece of cake to get her inspected again, she is never getting old...
Fixed some small issues such as broken bulbs and a broken windshield washer hose.

Now awaiting a new heater core and rear sway bar :)
