Its sad, but the cars just did not hold up to having the roof removed. GM Pays a lot of money to hoards of lawyers, and are serious about contracts so I really don't think they would have trouble suing a yard into submission.

Dare to dream though Fellas!
It's fairly obvious that someone on here bought it. It has already been discussed in a couple other threads on here that it doesn't really matter about the "contract" with these donated cars as many have remained in salvage yards and have been picked to the bone over many years before being crushed, and now resold as a nearly whole car too I guess...

Don't believe me, go to Wally's U-Pull-It in Oshkosk and look at the (donated to a school by GM) white Citation X-11 coupe that's been there for years now! That's just one example of the many i've seen throughout the years of going to yards.

Yeah, as I've said before, I don't think the junkyards are even bothering crushing them anymore. Not to mention I don't think GM would even bother sueing over a "old" car from 90', especially since the media could really hurt their reputation with a well said story.

And yeah, someone had to have gotten it on here, explains how mine and 1990BerettaGTZ's topics keep getting deleted. If I would have bought it one of the first things I would've done would've been posted pics and info about it on here.

Is that black interior? Whoever got the engine and trans was smart, 230 miles!

I wonder how manta verts were produced with yellow exterior and black interior hotta be extremely rare since hardly any verts were produce to begin with I just wish I could get agile of the convertible top frame and material so I could build one and get a pos base to convert it over the once it's perfect do it to a gt and throw Indy stuff on it ain't hard to build a vert top but you have to make everything exact!

I don't think rareness matters, especially if you are talking about a convertable Beretta. But there is a complete production thread on here somewhere.

But yeah, would have been neat even just to do what you said and take measurements to do a custom convertable with a working top.

SCD: did you get that console lid? I read that and then scrolled up and saw the car had no console lid! lmao

Guys, CHILL. Our moderation team consists of responsible and appropriately picked members. I do not recall the thread in question, but my only assumption is that it may have been deleted due to bickering over the statutes surrounding the sales or licensing of a "test" car as such. I can agree that if the thread was deleted for personal gain that is unacceptable. However I firmly believe that this was NOT the case. I can tell you 1990BerettaGTZ that your second thread was deleted as there is simply no need for a "Why was my thread deleted" type of thread.

And this is definitely not the attitude that will prevail on this board.

Damn... can't believe I missed this! Hope it went to a good home.

Someone asked about production numbers. Search my threads to find a complete listing of every convertible built.

You're contradicting yourself Styluss, you can't be for and against personal gain... And there was NO reason for any of the threads to be deleted BUT for personal gain. So, yes, that IS the case and as I already said, I agree that it's unacceptable...

I've contacted the GM Police and they are investigating this case of salvage yard negligence. They assured my that the car would be recovered and destroyed and that the salvage yard and buyer would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
