Oh, and I have a discount code from that order, not sure if anyone can use it or not, but here:

LULUORDERS5

But I had not applied a discount, it just gave me one, why I don't know.

Mine is missing an entire 4 letter word "more" from the quote and half of Einsteins face, but I knew there would be cropping issues going in. Calendar size is an odd size to crop to and since it's a car calendar I'm sure they were cropped to keep the car the main focus.

But yours is what you submitted in the competition, right? mine is different than what is submitted and is posted on this thread.

Nope, I submitted the full photo. Wanko does some initial cropping and Photoshop stuff and I assume when they are subbmitted to the company that makes the calendar they may have to do a little more cropping to fit it to the proper size.

I took the photos from Wanako and had to size them to 8.5x11, plus bleed area. The calendar needs an 8.75x11.25 image to cut down to 8.5x11. Some of the pictures were taken with too much detail outside the live area. You are better off taking two steps back when you shoot and leaving a little wiggle room in the background.

This is a known "issue". The calendar website cuts off nearly a good 1/4 inch of the submission when it comes time to print. Perhaps we need to list this in the initial thread from now on.

did not know that. I cropped all images to 8.5x11 exactly. I'll remember to add that .25 inch margin all the way around in the future.

Yeah, that's not where the problem comes from really. The problem comes from the aspect ratio of a camera vs the aspect ratio of the calendar. That 1/4" has a minimal change in the aspect ratio...but it does cut off detail around the edges. If you look at berettaboy's submission you can see how close the car is to the edge in his original photo. The photos need to be taken with some more wiggle room. Photography 101. haha
