New to BerettaNet but not new to the community

Post by gtz92.3 »

Hello everyone! I'm new to the site but attended two BerettaFests. In fact, some of you may remember me. I own a 92 Quasar Quad 4 GTZ and won the 07 Best of Show. Yes, its the one that was trashed on the way out, but good news is, she's been on the road since fall of 09.

Wow, I remember that car and helping get it road ready for the return to PA.

Glad to hear you got it all fixed back up, how does it look now?

As soon as I'm on a computer with photos of my car, ill post some. It was quite the repair. Found a 92 GT with a blue interior. Had the interior panel I needed. Pulled the rear axle and cut the quarter panel off. My uncle who originally owned and repainted it did all the repairs. I helped out as much as I could considering I'm not a body guy. Had to drill some holes to attach the ABS wiring on the axle but shes good as new. Has 189K on it and I had to replace the head gasket a few winters ago at 159K. Only thing that didn't go back together so nice was the headliner....collapsed after putting it in. Otherwise, shes beautiful.

Okay, I'm not familiar with forums. I have pics on my hard drive, how do I upload them to a reply?

You need two more posts. Then you can use Photobucket to post the photos if you want.

Or you can attach photos in a post; either way works.

Well since the car was off the road for so long and I didn't want to borrow the cutlass from the parents all the time, I was lucky enough to find a white 90 quad gtz 10 minutes from my home. Bought it for 800 and put 600 into it to make it road worthy. I'll post more pics of it when I get a chance to outline my cars. In rough shape but I got her running and saved it from the scrap heap. I sold it 6 months after the blue car was on the road and it currently is owned by a friend and he asks me to do nearly all the work on it so I still get to drive it. Better yet, its been repainted sunset red. Beautiful...not a perfect paint job but its pretty nice. I have a few pics of that too.

Almost bought this thing too...until I noticed the rear coils were ready to bust right through the pan into the trunk.

I have gotten very deep into my quaser, but I have never seen a beretta cut half way open! Would be interested to see some more pics of the progress.
Funny enough mine had also left quarter panel damage, just a dent though...

Big respect on not giving up on her! These are awesome fast little cars.....look great too. Quality is an issue here and there but hey they run great! LOL

I just hate the cabin water leaking issue.

Well, I'll find what pics I can. Unfortunately, I rarely remembered to take my camera when I went to work on her so I have a select few pics of the progress. In fact, I have very few since. After the 07 show, I started college and also a year later met the person who is now my wife. So, the car has gotten less attention, though I still take care of it as much as possible. Like I said, as soon as I get the time, I'll sit down and make a post of some of the better pics of my cars.

P.S. - To all involved in lending me the spares and helping me get on the road for the nearly 500 mile trip home with a bent axle....THANK YOU!!!! I never got the chance to say that, but thanks for your generosity.
