So what have you got to do before B'Fest?

Keep this to general Beretta/Board/Community topics.

So what have you got to do before B'Fest?

Post by Asylum »

I was sitting in my local pub watching the Daytona 500 on the weekend and started making a mental list of things I need to get my arse in gear on to get this damn car ready for B'Fest this June.

Yes it is in some God-Forsaken place that the "Facebook Fiends" voted on, and have no intention of attending, but that is just dung under the bridge at this point.

So the List. It's a little longer than I had expected.

Swap the dash, for the new one I have had sitting around for 6 years.
I "might" put the new seats in at the same time, but it really doesn't need them.
Have the car wet sanded and polished. It has been 5 years since it was painted and it was suppose to be done 2 months after that.
Wire up the Euro Tail lights that have been in since the paint.
Install the hood struts that have been in the closet for 7 years or so.
Install the Dickman shifter shim kit I forgot I had.
Get a leather shift knob figured out.
Find out why the A/C compressor is whining.
Replace the exploded fan.
Fix the wonky power window that is REALLY pissing me off!
And figure out what I want to do about the wheels. (GTZ wheels gotta go to storage)

Oh and change the oil.

Piece of cake!! :Bravo: Bring a perfect No-Rust Quad!

Is your list longer?

I was actually sitting around last weekend thinking about the same thing.

Need to figure out why my AC is not working ever since my engine swap. All the parts are new so I really hope that there is some sort of small gas leak.

My speedometer stopped working also. It was sporadic up-and-down I will be trying to change the VSS from a donor transmission. Given up on rebuilding a transmission. Fingers crossed it makes it, car still runs and drives fine.

As this car was assembled by me, definitely would like to go over the car and double check everything. I work on computer networks, working on cars is just a hobby.

Must also figure out a plan with Paul from Montreal. As far as I know he plans on going, there is another new member (1988berettagt) that would also like to come with us.

Finish the Camaro...lol

I plan on reupholstering some virgin black door panels I just bought wit perforated leather to match my seats. Not like it matters for Bfest though...cause I won't be there. haha

No one on Facebook voted for MS... They don't even know the forum exists or how to register here and this is the only place I accept votes :)

I am trying to re-direct my pseudo-rage and disappointment so as not to upset too many fragile egos on here, ROFL! :P

You have to admit, when Mississippi is in the news and it isn't concerning a College Football game....... It's never good!

I should list what I DON'T need to do... it might be shorter....

To Do:
Pinky
Build engine
Build Transmission
Hash out using HD Diff with Axles
Install all above components
Check/adjust Exhaust for any length changes
Possibly touch up spots on front and rear bumpers
Re-Assemble interior plastics/radio and such
Ensure AC works.
Tune Engine
Direct Port Nitrous (probably not happening AGAIN)

To Do:
Indy
Clean/vac and rebuild AC system
Convert to R134 and fill AC
Install lower frame brace
Install Rear External sway bar
Install other goodies....

Edit: :runsies: This is Assylum's thread! So never mind. Of course, I can't make it out to bfest anyway for the foreseeable future, even if I wasn't doing any of this work to the cars -I just can't break away from work right now. So I guess mostly I have to drive the cars and enjoy them -that is always at the top of the list!

Top priority for mine is to overhaul the cooling system.. Might convert to waterless coolant from Evans.

I want to also swap out the radio so I have something that sounds decent since the original '94 radio is toast.

Hmm I have to wait until the car gets back from paint in about 4 weeks than I can start on the following,
Remove trans and inspect to ensure torque convertor has been causing my tcc slip, if so send back to Revmaxx.
than wait for a replacement and re-install, in the mean time hopefully my new 3 core rad (ordered from milzy 3+ weeks ago) will be here so I can install.
Than I can remove my old trans cooler and install the smaller stacked plate one I bought behind the front grille.
In the meantime I'm going to find a train that will haul my car and i across the USA to biloxi.

EDIT:
Also forgot to add that i will need to install my new tail lights and new E36 headlights with revised brackets when she gets back from paint,
Will also need to take a trip to the tint shop as well as the electronics shop to have all the windows tinted to 15% and the remote start/alarm installed.

We will most likely be taking two cars this year. The Garnet GTZ will be getting a few minor things like coolant flush, thermostat and a once over on the brakes and suspension - If I can get the dash swapped before then, even better.

I'm not sure if I'll be driving the Quasar GTZ or the Aqua GT. If I can get this damn Quad running correctly, I'll take the GTZ. If not, I may see about painting the GT and take it. Both cars need their A/C charged and if the GT goes it will be lowered a bit beforehand.

As for the locale this year, I'm really excited. Sure, it's a bit further south than normal and it will be hot as hell but c'mon - Bfest at the Beach doesn't sound bad at all! Plus I'm thinking that a lot of the Bfest traffic from the NE guys will funnel through right passed us in TN and we should have a pretty decent caravan!

Put gas in it?

It's looking doubtful that I'll be able to get what I want accomplished in time; something about new babies taking priority or some crazy responsible thing like that? lol
