Beretta.net Vinyl cutter!

Post by 3X00-Modified »

For those who don't have Facebook....

Vinyl Decals now available on the BerettaFest Store. All proceeds go to the BerettaFest event! This should be an expanding area as well, I just figured I would get the simple stuff up there for now.

Bump... Not a lot of views on this.. Honestly expected more since we can now cut about anything.

I will be adding a "custom decal" option to the store soon.

Vinyl sales have been suspended until we can figure out what we have to do regarding online sales and state sales taxes. Seeing how "Beretta Fest" is a registered company in the state of CT under my Wife's name I'm not going to continue online sales till we know everything we need to know. Last thing I need is someone coming after us saying we didn't properly file taxes or collect CT sales tax for product.

Good call, never thought this would have ever come up as an issue though.

If you sell anything to anyone online as a business you are required to collect sales tax in most states... We just need to figure out a way around this.

Typically sales tax is only required when selling to someone in the same state.....

All of those rules vary depending on state law and I can tell you that we were told by state tax individuals that if we sell product under the business name on a site we are required to collect State sales tax.

As noted we are still looking into this and trying to figure out a way to make this possible. Obviously if we want we can do cash sales at the event but that definitely ties our hands when it comes to getting some stuff out there.

I asked my economics professor about it, he is a retired acountant.

He said there is a software package that can be purchased. It automatically updates with the latest tax rates in the us and stuff. Makes a list of taxes collected. And automatically collects taxes from buyers. Among other features.

I tried to google for this but cant find where someone would acquire such a software/service. Its probably expensive.

Yeah that is not something we want to take on. Do you have any idea how much effort it is to collect and submit tax money on quite possibly $500 worth of sales if we are lucky?

Yah I know its a lot of work. Supposedly the software is supposed to do it automatically and update everything on its own from what I have read. But depending on the upfront cost and annual subscription costs, it could cost more than what is made through sales.
I was hoping it could be helpful but I still havent been able to find how much something like that would cost as I'm also interested in that myself.

Never mind the upfront costs, but you need to know if this software he is referring to will integrate into our online store which is Open Cart... I work in IT so I know how big of a rabbit hole this can become... We are in no way in any shape to start doing anything like that.

Yah I'm not into the IT stuff so I wouldn't know the compatibility.

So far this is the only one I have been able to find:
