Pink Beretta finally done after 13 years

Post by BeRettaBs0BluE »

Hey everyone. Don’t know who all is here, I was normally on the other forum. Just wanted to let everyone know the pink beretta is finally done and will be in my driveway by Monday. Don’t really remember who it was i had bought it from, went to Pittsburgh to get it. Got the call this morning. It’s only been 13 years....

Thanks for the welcome. I was quite shocked when I saw it in the driveway today. After so many empty promises, she’s back home. She needs A LOT of work and she’s waaay worse off than when I dropped her off. The bodywork really didn’t turn out great at all, needs a transmission. Don’t really know what to do yet with her. My heart wants to put her back together but I really should just start over. The guy I got it from had it hacked together to begin with and going over someone else’s work is never good. I’ve always wanted a nice clean normal Z26, maybe that’s what I should do.

I'm trying to remember who you are. Are you from the Binghamton area in NY?

Yes I am. Here are some pictures of when I bought the car. Maybe you’ll remember this? I’m facing reality and getting this thing back to even where it was when I dropped it off would really be easier to buy a whole other car. The interior is trashed, it needs a transmission. I have been such mess seeing this thing the way it is. I think I would have been better off just never getting it back, I was already used to that. Then to get it back like this. It really turned out like crap bc he sprayed it and threw it in my driveway. Like why couldn’t he have just threw it together 13 years ago!? I guess I should have taken him to court or done something then too. I don’t know. What do you guys think?

Trying to show you guys the bad spots. The color looks so different when the sun hits it. Not the pink with purple pearl that it was almost done in once, I guess the color is ok. I was thinking of maybe selling my srx to put Beretta back together, an A7 really isn’t the grocery getter I need with my 3 boys though. Need to get this thing in the garage. I found a pool of water in the center console so I don’t know if he re-installed the sunroof correctly. Don’t mind my house that’s in desperate need of siding since we remodeled.

You've waited this long to have YOUR car come back to you (I don't know the story here, but I see enough to get the gist). Spite this guy, and fix it right, but get to know it again first. Fix the mechanical issues and drive it.

I don't recall those. I kinda neglected the Beretta boards while I was building/playing with my Camaro. Didn't you have a third gen or something?

Yes, I had a 87 z28. Originally black and gold, had the ground effects and hood louvers painted a blueish-purple like color. I think I had my Chevy venture then, I think that’s what I i drove to bfest. I really can’t remember.

Yeah I’ve really been even going back and forth about it. I really want that GTZ that’s for sale, I’ve been talking to Maxell. Didn’t get time to call him back last night. I was also thinking there’s only 3 more years before my oldest will be driving and I bought the car when he was an a baby. It’s pink but hey, does it matter and as bad as it turned out I could have it done by someone and straighten the thing out the right way. The only reason the guy finally got it done was bc he moved to Atlanta. I should have taken him to court or something years ago. I didn’t even want to have the car done, I just wanted him to fix the front where a trucker threw something out the window at me and cracked the front bumper. I had bfest in 2 weeks and it took him a year to do my camaro ground effects and hood louvers. He swore up and down he’d have it done, I paid him and this is where we are 13 years later. Through the years I didn’t have anywhere to put the car, etc so the years just went by.

Yikes... that separation where the GFX are looks like a rusty nightmare.

I also remember this can and member. I was wondering what happened with it since it was the only other popular Pink Beretta on the forum at the time. Welcome back to the Beretta mayhem, and hopefully you figure out what you want to do with the car soon. Tearing through someone else's old body work can be very tiresome though since you never know what you may uncover.

Pink Beretta finally done after 13 years

Post by BeRettaBs0BluE »

Sad to report back, I sold it. [emoji22] I had to, I couldn’t just put it away and let it sit longer. It went to a great person who’s going to get a new transmission and get her done how she’s supposed to. If he ever sells it he said he will let me know, so any luck I’ll have her back again someday, or I’ll find another beretta someday. She started right up and I drove her down to the trailer where they took her away. I just started using Tapatalk, I can’t figure out how to post the videos.
