Propane heaters
Anyone had any experience with propane heaters.
I have a rented new garage but it is unheated, and has very little insulation.
I'm not looking for it to be 75* 24/7, but some warmth at chosen times would be nice.
Any other alternatives?

I have used the Mr.Heaters where you hook up the bbq'er tank to a thermal head unit. It will get the chill out, but don't expect it to warm a 2.5 car garage very well. Works best for anything 1.5 or less.
What size space are we heating?
The torpedo ready heaters are very nice, but you need to crack the door a few inches so you don't keel over.

Good for up to 1100 sq. ft. even though you only need one for a 400 sq. ft. area, although if it's not insulated well or if it has a tall ceiling, 400 sq ft can be just a number.  lol
This is what I was first referring too:

It would be perfect if everything is insulated.

We used something like this during the ice storm, had it hooked up to a 100 pound propane tank and I tell you it would heat up a house in no time...
Just keep in mind to crack a door once in awhile and get some fresh air, propane may be clean burning but it does release cO.

Actually that is the EXACT one I'm going to buy this afternoon!
It should do the job and be safe if I keep the tank outside.

we had one in our old house for our big work shed, worked great. We also use them at work for all the rail switches during the winter, helps insure we dont derail a train lol
