Just bought a Beretta
I'm new to the Beretta world, but im opening with open arms. I fell in love with this car, and i feel it was a great deal.
1996 Chevy Beretta, 2.2L 3-Speed Auto
The guy who owned it, I work with...very good friend of mine. His grandparents own a chain of Napa stores in Corry, PA, so everytime the car would break down, he'd get the parts for free, and have them installed.
Here's what i know has been replaced...and thats why im excited.
-New brakes, pads, drum shoes, all the way around
-New brake lines
-New Gas Tank
-New Fuel Sending Unit
-New Alternator
-New Head Gasket 2 months ago
He attempted to keep the paint the best he could, with the matching touch up cans...it looks REALLY good for the price i paid. I'm very VERY familiar with the 2.2L Engine, as i've owned a few S10's in my past that had this engine. It has VERY VERY little rust, and almost none underneith.
I currently drive a Silverado that gets 18mpg. The gas was killing me. I could borrow my mom's S10 with a 5-Speed, but it becomes cumbersome working around her schedule, college, work, and girlfriend. So i stumbled across his Beretta...
...final cost was $965.00
It was for sale for a grand, but i did some computer work for the guy. He's a real good guy.
I can't wait to show you pictures of this car. I've fallen in love with this thing!

Welcome to the community, it's not as active as it once was, but you should be able to find all the help you need around here. There's a lot of members with an incredible amount of knowledge who are always willing to help.
Sounds like you got a pretty fair deal on that 96 given the condition; how many miles are on it?

Its got 120,000 miles. Those dont even flinch me. I've seen/owned S10's with this motor and they went 200,000+. I even knew of a guy who went 512,000 miles before he started to burn a little oil.
Whats your typical MPG out of these cars? Its rated 20/29, but i defenitly think with my slow driving i could easily get 30mpg.

Welcome. These cars are addicting so be careful. By the way I thought the 96 had the 4-speed auto.

I'm pretty sure it came with either option, and this is base, with a 3-speed.
It has P-R-N-D-2-L as an auto shifter, with no option as a 3rd or "Drive"
