need advice before undertaking a 1300 Mile drive

I need to move down from Lansing MI to Dallas TX in two weeks.
My 94 base beretta has 115K miles. My mechanic told me months ago that my wheel bearings are not perfect.

I cant bear to sell my beretta so I need to know what things I need to check before undertaking the 1300 Mile drive.

Note: I also have a 2001 Mercury Cougar V6 and was wondering if I could tow the Beretta with it.
