got to say i like my 2.8 and the 3.1 they can take a beating. my 2.8 has 245,000,000 on her and other than general mantance ive only had to replace the water pump. take care of them and they'll run forever.

Yeah 3.1 all the way although my trannies going so i might swap in a 5-speed after i get some other things fixed.  it was a nice tranny but unfortunatlly the 3 speed doesn't hold up like that engine does.

Edit: oh and whoever it was that keeps blowing quad 4's 4000 miles after you get them don't use that synthetic oil it loosens the seals which are already broke in on regular oil because it's thinner hence blowing the engine.  Unless your just beating the hell out of yours.

I don't be the wiss out of my quad.  In fact, the other day before I left to goto work I noticed a little oil under the car.  I pop the hood to find that the sending unit is spewing oil all down the side of the engine & trans making its way on the driveway.  As I wipe the oil away I see a nice crack in the exhaust side, lower tower part.   I am fixing it, just can't wait to see what else goes wrong after this is done.    :\

I love my 3.1! The only thing is that I wish it had the 5speed mated to it. All in due time
