Welcome back Bfesters!
I hope everyone had safe travels!
I slept in until 11am thank god, after Jon and I picked up the conference room and got to bed at 5:30 am CST. (BTW - we were supposed to be out of there by midnight! )
Ironically, I didn't get a hangover, but my wife somehow was the one who had a pounding headache and was sick to her stomach all the way home... Did I somehow pass it to her vicariously?
At any rate, I had an absolute blast this year - now I do say this after every year, but something about 2010 in Chicago is making me feel nostalgic much like some epic fests of the past like Louisville, Memphis, and Denver (personally). Some old faces, some renewed spirit, and a "lonely" red Z26 seat in the grass as the sun came up probably have a factor in that nostalgia...
Everyone was great, and I seriously wish I could be doing it all over again next weekend already!
Bring on Bfest 2011!

The chair wasn't lonely all the time. I stayed with it, and in return gave me a soft place to pass out for a couple hours. We told each other stories, and laughed at each other jokes. I always had a thing for red upholstery!

Re: Welcome back Bfesters!
Consider yourself lucky... LOL, I think it had something to do with the extra 2hrs of sleep you got over me. I just had a headache most of the ride back... And I was told to stop in PA again rather than trying to go straight through.quad4berettagtz wrote:I hope everyone had safe travels!

Somehow I guess I missed the 94-90 split because I ended up going to Michigan on my way home. I was getting chased by tornado warnings over the radio and everything, and then come to find out the next day there were news reports of 24+ people dead in the area from one touching down.... I don't know if it was during the day when I was driving, or if it was during the night that it happened but damn... that's too close for me either way.

Imminent Tornado Warnings FTMFL!
Heard on the radio in Michigan that a tornado was imminent in Van Buren County.
Next sign I see? "Entering to Van Buren County"
Rained all the way home, 11 hours, and VERY VERY heavy at times.

Re: Welcome back Bfesters!
Yikes... Yeah I was going down 94 with the storm right behind me almost the whole way... I only went as far as 131 before I said F this and shot south to get back to 90, which was somewhat below the severe weather. But yeah same for me... damn rain cloud was following me the whole way... crap it even parked its ass over me in PA and waited for me to leave there.

I'm just glad you made it back in one piece! I thought for sure you would have still been there when I got up
Nothing like closing down the house on Bfest 2010!
Good job dodging the severe weather on the way home too all you guys who travelled east!

Speaking of waking up early on Sunday....Mike...I took the grill back to that rental place...in the POURING rain... LOL.
I signed a form stating that I dropped it off. If you need or want it let me know. In any case...it was my pleasure to help again this year. Look forward to next year!

Re: Welcome back Bfesters!
Ugh... I drank with ya'll until 4:00am and then forced myself to go to bed as I had planned on getting up at 8:00am to make the drive home all i one shot (15 hours). I would have slept in had I know that Chad's slacker girl and friend would have not been ready until 11:00!! No matter, with Ron's car dying halfway home, we never would have made it in one shot anyway.
We all made it home safely. I am already putting together my proposal for next year's fest!! It was very nice, and motiviational, to hear 5 or 6 people tell me that the Denver BFest was their favorite...

Re: Welcome back Bfesters!
Here is my running list of all Bfests... There are plenty more states just west of Chicago where an even has not been held yet... I hate to see a repeat when we are only 14 fests in, there are plenty of other options out there.
