The final reason my car was not at Bfest..
Anyone done a braided stainless clutch line yet?
And some updated pics of the enginebay.. I cleaned it up a bit.
Re: The final reason my car was not at Bfest..
I just did a braided line last Thursday. It helped engagement so much, I can chirp third now.

If you don't mind sharing.. what parts exactly did you use? That way I don't have to go searching for adapters and what not..
Re: The final reason my car was not at Bfest..
I don't use those parts. I just bring the stock hose to a hydrulic line shop and they replicate it for me.
I had 2 lines made for the disk swap and the clutch line and it set me back like 60 bucks I think.
Iirc I used 23 inches long but I am not 100% sure

No crap! I need to make some braided brake hoses, and the clutch line sounds like a good idea too. The factory T56 clutch line I have in the Camaro is braided...no love for the L-bodies.Barry wrote:I don't use those parts. I'm not familiar with how these lines connect so I can't even begin to direct you.
When I did my stainless lines for my brakes I got custom length ones from a Hot Rod website. They made them with -3an fittings at the end and a Banjo at the other, that allowed me to get a set of GM bubble flare to -3an adapters and then I was able to keep all my stock lines intact and the mounting points for them.
If I knew what ends you were dealing with I could search some more stuff for ya.

I got a line made up today for $20 bucks, but its gonna be a pain in the ass. Its 1/4 (-4an) line with 1/8 NPT ends on it. I don't have the proper adapter either... The one side is male 10x1.0 GM bubble flare (metric) and the other is female 1/4" double flare. Of course the metric side is the side I can't find any adapters for. Plus they couldn't put a swivle on either end, so its going to be a bit tricky to install.

I'm well aware of that Eric, but I wanted to know exactly what adapters Barry used, since there is NO way he got a line made up that has the right ends already on it..asylum wrote:There are a dozen places here in town that couold make that hose while you wait.

Yes its true. I took the stock line to them and had a exact replacement made of coated and braided stainless.
There are NO adapters. They just put the right ends on it. It was quite simple. I wish I wouldn't of installed it yet I could have a few made and sell them.

Is your car internal or external slave? If yours is internal like mine I don't see how its possible, unless this shop has its own connectors made up.. I can't even find adapters for exactly what I want to do, let alone finding the right crimp connectors.

If you have the internal slave (FTW) then the connectors all unscrew. Off the master cylinder too. At least on my ACDelco replacements.
Not with o-rings and roll pins like the older ones.

I have the internal slave just like you.
If it you need I can have another one made off the stock line I still have.
