As promised, it runs. That's open heads, no exhaust at all. Most sensors aren't hooked up at time of video. It needs exhaust and cooling system so I can fire it up and work the tuning bugs out.

That was all the car was ran, what you saw there. Needs lots and lots more before I can get behind the computer and get it running smooth.

Cool thing is that I have a timing tab on my timing cover so I can dial in my timing with a light and set the megasquirt to match. That means 20 degrees on the computer screen will be 20 degrees in real life. I dont actually know where it was before.

So this weekend will be exhaust, motor mounts, and whatever else falls apart as I fix other things.

Small update. Got more exhaust work done. Added flanges and collector. I don't think the other flange is in the pictures tho.

My exhaust will actually run above the trans and next to the driveshaft offering me great ground clearance. The location of the stock gas tank gives me a ton of room for a muffler.

Hey woody how do you feel about dual side pipes this time??

So it's gonna run in front of the motor? I'm confused at the pics.

One tube appears to go around the front of the oil pan below the pulley yes and then joins in with the second down pipe.

I was thinking that you should install something like Accusump before going much sideways with that car, thought of that?

I'm sure it will cross his mind when the oil pressure gauge drops to zero during a drift..... I think right now he's trying to keep it cheap and a sump system is expensive.

Yes, driver side exhaust comes to front of motor and through the notch in the oil pan, much like a stock malibu/g6. Then they collect on the passenger side, go over the trans, down right behind the cross member, then will follow the driveshaft back.

Oil pressure has never crossed my mind and I doubt it will be a problem. My bmw and my 240 had sumped pans however, something these fwd pans dont really have. Still with the pump pickup towards the back of the car it should be just fine. I doubt the oil will climb that high up the wall of the pan to starve it.

I guess well find out if it blows up or not.
