Bfest 2018 Registration Open!

Post by 3X00-Modified »

Ok, FINALLY Bfest Registration is open. PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION FOR THE REGISTRATION. Things have changed for this year and I do not want to be explaining it to every person individually. Everything should be noted enough in that description for you to register for Bfest 2018.

Please be sure to fill out all the area's as much as you can to make this easier for everyone.

This could be solved very simply.
If you vote for a location and don't register and pay, you can't vote for 5 years.
Absolutely BS system!!

BUT THIS WILL NEVER GET POSTED!

That is a bit extreme, but we have in the past discussed peoples voting weight expiring over years of lack of attendance... I would like to only give the 3 point weighted votes to those who've attended the previous 3 Bfests... basically your voting weight is directly related to you previous attendance at the last 3 events. The biggest issue with that is the nightmare of sorting the votes, or checking them to ensure people are voting in the right poll... We didn't have very comprehensive attendance records for the past few years and we are working on improving that to potentially make this a possibility. And no matter what system you have in place, there is pretty much a guarantee of nearly 50% disagreeing with what you have going on... That's just how this world works.

People tend to procrastinate. Somehow it always seems to have a good turnout.
I can appreciate the work that gets put into setting this up. Hope all others do as well.
I've never been to one. I'm close enough that if I decided to go, I don't need a hotel.
I'd maybe just go to some events, if possible.

OK as of right now, tonight, I am not going to B'Fest 2018.
Just not in the works for me this year, or to be honest, in the foreseeable future.
I would seriously consider a Carlisle effort again, but other than that unless it is in the parking lot of my Condo, not going to happen.
My GTZ hasn't moved for over a year, I really have ZERO interest in the damn thing, and quite frankly I have other things I want to do on my growing Bucket List.
I will be 67 in July, miss some of you good folks, but I just can't get all that excited about it.

That said I am going to donate $500 CDN to the site, or the Event, Jon can decide, for all the great times I have had and the great people I have been fortunate enough to meet. It was a Hell of a Great Time!!!

Be well, safe and for Heaven's Sake, have a great time.

That's unfortunate that you won't be making it and can't see yourself making the trip in the future either... But I can understand your priorities. Your donation is not necessary but it is greatly appreciated. I would probably divide up the money equally to help counter the costs that Aaron picks up to keep the site and everything up and running and then use the rest to do something special at the event this year for the attendees.

And don't think your getting out of this too easily... I will probably hunt you down on my way out there to say hello, or on my way back. :)

And hang in there... Eric keeps saying Carlisle is going to happen... I'm just waiting to see if it ever will.

We still need a grumpy old man figure. I've never seen that quad either. Bring it to Carlisle next year for Bfest 2019. I think you'd have a good time drinking beer and shooting the crap at the campfire.

Can we spend the $500 on beer? I believe a fellow Canadian would approve.
