Greetings 'yall...
My friend has a 1999 Malibu with the 3100 v6 engine.  He's lookin to put in an cone filter K&N filter setup....  Since this is the same engine as the later Z26's i was wondering if the same type of cone filter setup would be appropriate?  Same thing would probably fit my 3.1 anyways....

Anyone have words of wisdom?  Places to look for/buy something to work?

Is the airbox located in the same spot?  Adam

I just attached my cone filter to the MAF and left the sensor (previously in the air box) hanging. The MAF is 3" so anything a little bigger than that will clamp right on. Also, I left the bottom part of the air box in so the filter could lay in it and absorb any air which the snorkel takes in...

Ok, thats what i figured would need to happen.
3" K&N straight on.. thats kinda what i thought he would want to do, but i figured id at least ask before i went and told him to take apart his airbox.
