This would be a good question for gar or canada I think.
How do I go about removing my downpipe for my 3100?  I see two bolts that seem to connect to the manifold from the top of the pipe.  Once I get that off how do I remove the little pipe that is inside the original downpipe?  Does it just fall out or do I have to cut it out?

Unbolt it. Then I cut the metal bracket that connects to the manifold off with about 7" of pipe. Then you have a nice straigth section of pipe to use a punch and BFH on.

Ok, so I just unbolt those two bolts and the pipe will come right off?  Then I just beat the jesus out of the little one inside of it?
I'm trying to get a visual picture here, sorry
You tore out the smaller diameter pipe inside the original pipe and then just cut off all but a couple inches from the bracket that bolts to the back of the manifold, right?

yeah, the inner pipe was pressed in there...no welds or anything. the only mount points that were on my exhaust was the manifold connection and the rear hanger in, well, the rear.

Is it possilbe to remove this inner 1.5" thing in the down pipe and use stock piping?

Like can you unbolt it and remove it and bolt it backtogether? I can't picture what you guys are talking about. The most I've done is look at the under side where the mount/doughnut thing is...
And if you go to bigger pipe how does the doughnut thing bolt to the new pipe?

The only way to remove the inner pipe is to cut the downpipe in half so you can pull it out. The inner pipe measures 2" O.D., and the outside pipe measures 2.25" O.D.

Yes those are Iowa. I am from Northeast Iowa. I live near Manchester, which is about 1 hr north of Cedar Rapids, or 20 min. west of Earlville (where the drag strip is at).
