Nice work on the Camaro.
Just a thought, you are using grade 3 bolts on the ball joints?
You might want to upgrade those.

haha I wondered if anyone would catch that. Grade 5 I do believe. Those are the bolts I had for my shifter plate that I used for the mockup. I will be putting grade 8s in during assembly. I also wondered if I should do the same with the through bolts that came with the adjustable arms. They are also grade 5 according to the markings.

Oh yeah, I forgot the grading system.
0 marks=2 grade
3=5 grade
6=8 grade
geez, who came up with the grade marking system anyway??

I got my test fender back from my painter and I'm still undecided on a color. All these dark/slate blues tend to be very metameric. They look quite different in sunlight/flash/fluorescent. And I seem to like different samples best in each light source... I did cut up pieces of the hood decal I won't be using to see how the tri-color stripes will look.

Colors here are Volvo#492/80 Camaro #29/modified Volvo#492/13 Corvette "Night Race Blue"

Night racer blue. Makes those stripes pop.

I like how dark that one and the Code 29 are, but they get a little blurple too.

Have you looked into the color on the Cruze's? I believe it's called Blue Topaz Metallic. From what I remember, it didn't get too blurple.

I need to go blue shopping at a new car lot. haha

I was ready to use Boner's Lemans Blue but I saw that go a little blurple in person. It's possible my eyes are more sensitive to red tones than normal too. My neighbor swears none of the colors on my fender go blurple but the 29 and Night Race definitely do...

When I redo a 66 Chevelle/Malibu, it's either getting that color or an orange metallic, maybe the one that's available on the 06 GTO's.

Have a looked at Chrysler "Patriot Blue" or Viper Blue.

But the tape stripes? REALLY?

There are some neat options you may want to consider for some contrast.

That said, I'm jealous! That car is going to be fabulous, but 5,000 pounds. LOL

Those are a little brighter than I like. Something a little grayish would be perfect. These pics are supposedly the stock #29 Dark Blue, but they look a lot darker to me.

And this is also supposed to be the stock color:

Back to hot rodding! Spent the last week (and all the long weekend) doing a whole new roof on my parents' new house. Glad I'm not a roofer for a living.

I got my bar bent by a local shop. It's 1.5" .120 wall tubing. For $30! Can't beat it. Had some 3/16 left over to plate the frame where it mounts. Welded the perimeter of the plate and the center hole of the frame to the plate. Super strong. Thinking about adding a cage nut to the frame where the rad support mounts. Would make it really easy to bolt in since my access hole from the bottom is gone now. This thing should keep the subframe square and be a nice spot to jack the front of the car up. haha

I had to cut up the core support some to get the best fitment. I'll see how that goes this weekend getting the radiator situated again.

Ever thought about swapping to the older style round tail lights while at it?

No, but I've thought about modifying the housings for the round trailer light LEDs and offsetting them to the top, so they would be round on the bottom and flat at the top edge (kinda like the 10-13 Camaros.) And then tinting the housing. I don't like the amber in the stock tails.
