Re: LVD FLOODED
The price you pay to put the power to the ground instead of losing it in a torque converter...

That seems to be quite common with 3400/5-speed beretta's too...

Re: LVD FLOODED
Yeah but I got this nifty little thing called a lockup clutch... it removes the fluid coupling losses... AND when thats not engaged there is that other neat thing called torque multiplication by the back flowing fluid forcing the stator to spin more and pump more fluid...
A lot more goes on in those little converters than you think, And I think more of the power loss is the sheer weight difference between all the rotating parts. Its not how the power is transferred the most... Yes I do loose some but I gain torque... so its a odd ball thing. You guys beefed up your axels... now its time to start sheering intermediate shafts

Re: LVD FLOODED
Devon has stock GM shafts and has dropped the centerforce clutch at 4000 RPM to many times to count on slicks that do indeed hook at that RPM and had no issues except when he was running street tires

Re: LVD FLOODED
I never should have given him those axles! I could be using one right now.

Oh good, I'm not the only Camaro that's done that. GLD got a little overzealous with prepping the track once, and some idiot put 400 ft/lb to a stock whining GM 10-bolt *raises hand*woody90gtz wrote:Sometimes they only use about 2 inches of it and get pushed back off...Cliff8928 wrote:woody90gtz wrote:
Maybe they'll just let slow cars like Berettas run!
Or Camaros, they don't need the whole track anyways...

Re: LVD FLOODED
Yeah... Cicero preps WAY better than LVD ever has, so the pinion ended up going through the back seat and the driveshaft snapped off when I dumped the clutch. What size 10-bolt did you break? 2 other 3rd & 4th-gen 7.5" 10-bolts broke that day, but mine was the only 8.5" that bit the dust.cramez wrote:Oh good, I'm not the only Camaro that's done that.
