I was a little over 10k gross weight. And what did you haul, a compressor? haha

I hauled my compressor home in the bed of my truck the day I signed the closing paperwork!

Truck is now equipped with a 14-bolt 3/4-ton rear end w/ brakes and 3/4-ton leaf springs with 1-ton calipers up front (and the 1-ton hydroboost I swapped last year.) I also finally replaced the dead window motor. The truck feels so luxurious with elec window and a door panel reinstalled! haha

looks purdy...

after doing wheel cylinders and brake lines on the 1-ton a couple weeks ago i really like the full floating dually rear axle...

do the 1-ton calipers bolt onto the 1/2ton? May be another thing I need to do to the tahoe since the brakes suck ass.

Hows the ride with the new leafs?

I like the ride better actually. The 1/2 ton leafs had 232k on them and squatted big time when loaded...these 3/4 leafs have a little over 100k and are a lot stiffer. I'm used the the ride though, I put heavier springs on everything. I have 600lb front & 220lb rear springs on the Camaro, when factory specs are like 270f/92r IIRC. haha

The 1-ton calipers bolt right on as long as you get the "single rear wheels" version. The dually calipers fit a thicker rotor. The piston is a little bigger, but only by 18%, so the pedal travel doesn't change isn't even noticeable. Doing the hydroboost last year was a HUGE upgrade though, even when it still had stock 1/2 ton brakes all around.

Larry's old race car has 1000lb front springs... LOL and 225/250 in the rear.THAT rides like a truck! The modified... has a range of 200's in the rear and 500's in the front IIRC... Talk about a completely different setup.

PTFB offers up to a 700lb spring up front and I think that's as high as they go. What is the leverage at the spindle vs the spring on the old race car? That has a huge effect on how a spring feels. IE: a 500lb spring with a 2.5:1 ratio feels/functions the same as a 600lb spring with a 3:1 ratio.

I can't find a pic on google, but I've seen people put stick on chrome trim along the whole bottom of the truck under the door ding molding like a goddam two-tone. Gayest thing ever.

that poor nissan... i will find you and put you out of your misery... (or de-clutter you and use you...)

yes i agree, completely retarded with the stick on chrome... i generally don't like shiny crap though.

what the f is with all the tail pipes? and the circles of chrome at the rear of the doors? - another funny one, bud on my facebook posted a pic recently, a dodge durango with all the cheap crap they could order for it out of a catalog. it had a painted chrome sunroof deflector, but no sunroof...
