Bfest 2010 UPDATES
Hello everyone!
As the snow is finally melting up in WI here, I'm starting to feel that fever of spring. Don't you? For me this means a couple of things: I'm actually starting to clean my garage back up, I'm getting the SCCA car ready to go for the 2010 season, and most importantly we are in the depths of planning Bfest Chicago 2010!!
Just to keep you all in tune as to what is going on...
We are in the middle of securing our park for the picnic, and working hard to get an even more improved registration site up and running. Keep your eyes peeled for regitration updates! We are looking to have this open by the end of this month!
We have a great hotel! Our hotel is located on the NW side (suburbs) of the Windy City. It is in a great location - within just a few minutes of the Metra or Blue Line that can take you downtown cheap, and a free shuttle from the hotel to get you to the train station. This means you can go check out downtown and leave your Beretta in the secure parking lot of the hotel! We have a group price of $65/night for a double queen or king room! The hotel is accomodating us and we will have registration check in on thursday INSIDE the hotel near the lobby! (GO A/C!) As a special bonus, we have confirmed with the hotel that we will have a meeting/conference room available for our group SATURDAY night at no cost if we book 20 or more rooms! Pending some generous sponsorships we may land, the saturday night reception room could be put up as a BerettaFest Party because CARRY-INS WILL BE ALLOWED! More to come, so keep in tune!
Sponsorhips are rolling in, and we have some great people helping us out with the event so far with more hopefully to come! If you, or someone you know, is interested in sponsoring or donating to Bfest please contact myself or Jon Chmura (3X00 Modified on Bnet board). And of course THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
That is all for now folks, but we aren't done. BerettaFest 2010 in the Windy City is lining up to be one of the best Bfests ever! Make sure this is one you cannot miss!

Re: Bfest 2010 UPDATES
More updates:
-We officially have our park accounted for. It is 7 minutes from the hotel, there are only three turns (including the one to get out of the parking lot), and we have the only pavilion in the place. I better not hear about anyone getting lost this year!
-Registration is mere DAYS away from opening. Keep in tune to this. I would anticipate we should have registration open by the middle of next week at the very latest. Possibly over the weekend. Stay tuned!
-We are getting A LOT of sponsorship interest this year! THanks to anyone who has been in discussion about this with Jon! Thanks to Jon for spearheading this effort this year! Look for some great prizes and added perks at the event this year!

Re: Bfest 2010 UPDATES
Some dude not me unfortunately. I was thinking of bringing the SCCA car and putting the stickies on it. Might get an N/A award, but no chance against someone with power adders. I will probably be hanging in the city that evening instead of racing - although somehow I fear that will not be any cheaper!

Re: Bfest 2010 UPDATES
Maybe we should have a best stock run for 6's and quads? LOL
I am toying with the idea of running the old gal once or twice, to see what it will do. Which will be horrible I'm sure.

The problem with that is simply where do you stop?
Does a WAI eliminate you? CAI? A modified exhaust system? 3.1, 3100, auto, 5-speed?
Heck you would need half a dozen classes.
But I'm open to serious suggestions.

Re: Bfest 2010 UPDATES
No, I was simply thinking stock as in the engine and transmission being the same as what came with the car. From the intake to the exhaust. But I see your point. My only thought was not opening up more "classes" but giving the boys or girls more of a chance with hardware that wasn't majorly overhauled, upgraded, etc.
Could do something like this though maybe (As an example, you guys know better than me what would work where):
Class 1: Heavy modification - Engine upgrades(heads, manifolds, block), turbos, nitrous, gear changes, stall converters, etc
Class 2: Medium modification - Tuned, exhaust, CAI, WAI, UDP, A/C delete, etc
Class 3: Stock only engine and drive-line from intake to exhaust.
As far as working with the different engine packages... (MPFI SFI etc) no idea. Some may cry foul going a 3.1 vs a 3100 but I think the little differences would not matter as much as how the driver would do. I being a complete noob for example would probably have bad runs vs someone that has been doing this awhile. And I'm not planning on winning anything, I just want to do it to say I have done it. lol
But thought it would be a cool idea. *shrug
You guys can figure out whether to implement it or not.

Re: Bfest 2010 UPDATES
There will be a thread when registration is open. We dont open it and not tell anyone or not post about it.
Be patient please. There are tons of threads about bfest with these same questions in them.
Hell the answer to this same question is at the top of the thread.
