i was going to have one built by my computer shop, they do them fairly cheap and they are very very good with computers, instead i went about and bought a brand new sony avaio, best computer i have yet, 750gb with the i5 processor.

Well if I bring up my EVGA account I can post my info... lol

E8400 6MB L2 Cache
OC'd 4.05Ghz Air cooled, XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 Cooler
eVGA nForce 780i 132-YW-E178-A1 FTW
8GB OCZ SLI RAM PC2 6400
2 eVGA 9800GT 1GB DDR3 SLI
Seagate 250GB/500GB/1TB SATA Drives
Lite-ON 20X SATA DVD+-W Drive
Thermaltake M9 Gaming Computer Case
OCZ 600W Power Supply

I just did a prime95 burn in yesterday since someone asked what my core voltage was since they found a chip of the same batch as mine. Thing ran fine all day peak temp IIRC was 55*c on the cores.

I'll have to get a 3dMark score, but I'm not sure mine is that high since my video cards are ok... but nothing to write home about.

I cheaped out and bought this box on Ebay for $900 and I've swapped out HD's and such and also exchanged my unstable CPU for a stable one from here at work. My other cpu had stuck core temp sensors too, so at idle it was reading 45*c... which is bull since this one with the same OC sits at 30ish IIRC...

It's been a while since I've really messed with it.

This was before the XIGMATEK cooler.

Mines not a quad core 8400 it's the E8400 which is just the dual. I don't think my PS is good enough to support the Quad, AND then replace the video cards with something that I really want... I would have to upgrade that first. Thats probably my weakest link, and the fact that I'm running 4x2gb for ram on my board... That is apparently very hard to make stable on the n-Force Series boards, but I'm doing ok so far, I have very conservative memory timings and thats probably why.

OK, how about the other way around in size.....

1U rackmount server. 4xTB hard drives, Raid 5. Supermicro X8SIL-F MATX MB. Intel Xeon L3426 Quad-Core processor. ATI HD5450 video card (HDMI w/audio)

Now just to get some ram...

4xTB HD in raid 5... Ancient... LMAO... Granted to get the best space and redundancy its the best solution, but not for speed. I'm trying to phase out and reconfigure my Raid 5 server here at work.

Yeah, it doesn't need to be fast. Not like I'm gonna drop the cash to put in SSDs.

Yeah, I built that really nice Quad last spring, ended up just selling it, as I want to go i7 later on. Sold it with an ATI Radeon 4860 512MB, 500GB.
But I would rather have the better bandwidth for the memory/CPU bus.

My main system is still the 478 P4 HT 3GHz clocked at 3.6GHz, running a 930 something FSB. (bus speed is set to 240MHz, instead of 200), RAM is set to 390 something (333 overclocked).

Still its fast. Bundled with an AGP version of a Radeon 3850 256MB, 4*250GB IDE drives setup as RAID 0+1. Tons of external space, basically used for my main office PC. Running XP Pro.

Currently I am using an Acer Netbook Atom 1.6GHz HT core, 2GB, 320GB 7200, Windows 7 Home Premium. Runs great, loaded with Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook version as well.

I won't get into the 5 other systems I have around here. I guess the most powerful current system would be the AMD Phenom Quad bundled with 4GB, but the other half uses it. lol

I just meant a different level of raid... like 10... LOL Granted you would need 8 discs to have the same space you have now.

Ace that AGP card dates that PC... lmao.

Actually its older. When I bought the Gigabyte mobo for that system, Prescott's weren't out yet. Started with a northwood chip, moved to the Preshott later. lol 8 years on the same board.

3rd Video card too. Started with a Gforce TI 200 128MB. Then a 256MB 6800. lol

I mean agp alone.... that interface for a video card dates the pc so much lol.
