Actually Jon I've had factory and Blazer fogs and the Blazers throw more light. I don't know why you hate them so much.

No, but I would buy a set of the front clear turn lamps, convert them to LED and send them to you if you bought me that set of Fogs Jon. Good deal....... lol

For one you always suggest them like they are an identical drop in replacement and they really aren't...

Also because mouting this... by drilling a hole and trying to line it up, and having a flat faced lens

Vs mounting this with the stock screws and plug

Is way more of a pain in the ass... Trust me I had aftermarket fogs on my Pink car when I first Z converted it and I hated them... They didn't line up right in the openings and the mount was just a pain to do since I had to drill holes in the reinforcement bar. I also didn't like the gap they left in the bumper opening from the straight lens after getting them aimed straght.

You can get the stock fogs to throw more light by simply removing the plate that's directly in front of the bulb... Takes two seconds with a drill and a pair of plyers.

Do not like...

Ace, I already tried the clear fogs as you can see above and I went back to stock orange ones... Thanks but no thanks.

And Woody you don't like shiny things and I do sometimes so this is my I hate aftermarket fogs... LOL :runsies: :sparta:

This was my answer....

It is the way GM stores them de safe shipping which makes the packaging over sized.

Yeah it's probably a box the same size as the rear window... the corners can't be bent or they would crack on the seams.

Yeah, I've got the clears on mine right now and I'd like to find a set of orange ones. The red ones looked awesome! But the popo did not like them.

And Jon, I mounted the Blazer fogs on the stock bracket. "Took two seconds with a drill" and they do line up right. Piece of cake.

Well what can I say, I like the stock setup better with the tapered lens to fill in toward the middle of the bumper... Last time we had this discussion you said the blazers didn't fit the stock housings.

And yes light direction they "line up" fine, but fitment the lens just isn't the same to me.

You have to make them fit the stock brackets, but they fit. The lens doesn't fit the stock housing, but the stock housings are usually shot anyway.

That's not a problem. They sell brand new orange ones aftermarket all the time on ebay, cheap. Some even look to have the right hue of amber. OEM NOS ones are harder to find. I know one other member that got a new set, and I managed to get one side, but not both yet.

I guess I miss read this
woody90gtz wrote:You replace the whole housing with the Blazer ones. And once they are mounted, that angled lens on the stockers is the only difference. I just looked on ebay and I'd save the $60 and buy the Blazers. But that's just me.
because you say here that you used the OEM bracket but the supplied one will work... I disagree with the second part of that since they look like crap with the supplied brackets.

I wonder what the quality is. Quality of the clears suck. But that's better than trying to find a good set of OEM ones at this point. I had stock ones with my car but they were junk by now.

I never tried their mount since I had my stock bracket, but you're right...yours did look like crap with the gap. But they are were not Blazer brand either. Those look like the other Walmart brand. (I know cause I had a similar one on my GTZ.)

Still the same shape... They were only non directional lens and tinted blue, also no difference in how they mount. Aftermarket clear turns suck too, they allow in moisture or at least mine did, which is one reason why I nixed them.
