cat back and muffler?

so im gettin a 94 beretta z26 today and im think bout gettin it all lookin good and sounding good. but i dont know crap bout cars really. dumb qustion i know but what is a cat back for? i want something loud i was thinkin bout getin a borla tip or a flowmaster which is better? thanks.

cat back = the pipe from the cat to the muffler ^^
What engine have the 94 z26 ? 3100 or the Quad4?
To get loud just cut the cat out and put a magnaflow or so on it. Straight pipe or no muffler is also louder

the 3100. k thanks im gonna go to my house of muffler round here and get somthin put on in a couple of weeks. stock exhaust come with a cat rite? so can i leave it on and get a magna flow on it and still be loud? thanks

A borla catback or just a muffler would be also nice on a 3100.
And yes, the stock exhaust came with a cat. And i think its audible with the magnaflow
Or you just get a borla exhaust... i heard borla has some louder and some quiter muffler.. but im not a borla expert, i just heard about that ^^

It's a high flow cat convertor ,2.5" pipe and a Flowmaster muffler. Probably the sound you're looking for. ChevyGuyGTZ has a Magnaflow and his sounds great , he has a thread here in the exhaust section as well.
