Hello all, on my 96 3100, i understand that my downpipe has an outside diameter of like 2.25 or something and an inner pipe of like 1.5 or something? If true, is there a way to gut out the 1.5 and just use the 2.25? That would give me some horses i think correct? Thanks!

Some cars do have pipes within pipes, mainly for heat management, but I'm not sure if that's the case with our downpipes. Anyways, if it is, there isn't really an effective way to get the inner pipe out, due to the fact that there's a bend in it. You'd be better off just replacing the entire unit. Keep in mind, however, that most direct fit downpipes will come with the converter attached.

its true.  its 1 5/8" ID.

You basically have to build your own or have a shop build one for you.  One of the better upgrades you can do to the 3100.

Buy a DHP.  Reset your shift points and youll be pretty happy.
