haha he was more interested in me even though yours was way louder than mine and that was with the Flowmaster 80.
That's cause you look skeevy!

I looked at the Aerochambers too, but I'm very happy with the VT.
haha weren't we still in MA at that point.

might try the aerochamber this year then craigslist the one i don't want.

Right now I'm going to go VT unless I can get a better deal on an aerochamber. My car is nowhere near Dave's build so I don't expect that sound and neither should many of you. ;)

I should add, I'm not going to put an aluminized muffler on an otherwise fully stainless set up. Hence the $170+ pricetag on the aero that I'd want.

i have a 3.1 L 5 speed, aftermarket cat converter (shorter then the stock one) and a cherry bomb (glass pack) muffler. the muffle is pretty long it goes from the bend just past the axle almost to the bumper. i have a short smaller tip that brings it just passed the bumper. the tip goes from 2 /12 on the muffler to 2" out.

I think it sounds decent. for a $30.00 muffler.
I have a shorter glass pack i was thinking about putting on, i had my muffler off the car and started it up man is that loud LOL wish i could leave it off. thinking about cutting the smaller glass pack open and shorten it to see how that sounds.

I got a ractive stainless muffler brand new given to me but im weary that it might make it too ricey sounding.

Theres a short video i did on youtube with my camera in the trunk so you can hear the car, there is some background noise, i figured out it was the fan on my amp later.

Lots more out there that sound better then mine, but its my car and i think its fine for me.

Ill be getting a 2 1/2" dp from dusty, into a 2 1/2" cutout, than a 2 1/2" magnaflow converter, than back into a 2 1/2" hooker aerochamber muffler one in 2 out. ill be doing jons exhaust i just love the look of it coming out from the center with the rectangle tips. ill post vids when i get it done im more worried about motor swapping right now.

For what its worth I ended up getting a Magnaflow. My cost was only $40 through work, so I couldn't pass it up. Part number 11226, 2.5" perforated core, all stainless.

I can't wait to get everything installed. :)

96b mike you could also cut your muffler off. it doesnt sound too bad i suppose. if not get a hooker aerochamber they sound really good on a 60*

I'm really late to the party here, but when I had my exhaust redone, I went with a Dynomax Ultra Flo SS. I like the sound. I should take a recent recording (~25k mi later) to compare to the original.

I really like how my stock 3.1 sounds with a magnaflow muffler, nice deep tone in low rpms and gettin pretty quite in higher rpms, typical... im more used to the exhaust of my some louder quad4 ;)

If i would have headers on my 3.1 id go with a 2.5" exhaust, cat(maybe), borla race bullet and magnaflow muffler.

I like flowmaster, little pop in my 5 speed but its 3" no cat. My 94 I had 2.25 with a super 44 and pypes high flow cat and loved the way it sounds, but they are loud.

you want a muffler with good sound... let it rot out some LOL... the one on my new retta i think might be stock with a dual tip and it sounds really sweet, but it has a whole in the end on the side i can stick my hand into it LOL.
