O2 sensor is in the rear manifold, just above the downpipe.

Does it smell like gas or sulfur?

Sulfur smell points to a bad cat.

Gas (rich) could mean an injector is bad (stuck open).

I have not Cat, it was cut out, stright pipe put in. Smells like a old 1970's car with a out of tune carb, the smelly fumes from the tail pipe. Not a unspent gas spell. Hard to explain.

Things to try would be:

ICM
coilpacks
ECU
plugs
wires
IAC
EGR
Clean TB
o2 sensor
fuel injectors
fuel pressure
vacuum leaks

Um, if you remove the cat then yes your exhaust will smell like that from a 70's car that did not have a cat... your smelling the pollution...

I'm somewhat surprised that your asking this question since this is a direct result of removing a pollution control device. Its almost like taking off the muffler and then asking why is my car so loud?

You can ask for a 90 beretta one, or you can just get a universal one of the same pipe size that you have. Any will work, but the year listing one may be more expensive due to it being application specific.

I'm glad you didn't take offence to my above post.

no offense taken. I can ask dumb questions at times. I thought I read somewhere that the Indy car makes had tuned sport exhaust? Maybe GT''s did also?

Nope, nothing special about the exhaust...

I'd just replace the cat with a universal unit. They are always cheaper, in my experience, than a made for your car specific fit unit.

The Magnaflow universal cat will flow better than stock and costs less than a stock one. It will do a better job and last longer than a stock one from the 90's.
