Anyone have a part number for this on Rock Auto? I see nothing listed.
I grow tired of the vibrating orchestra that is my cover.

I had left mine off when I just finished my top end rebuild. Mostly because I'm a lazy bastard sometimes and didn't want to make the umpteenth trip to the parts store (of course, I COULD have had them delivered, had I KNOWN the size and twist) for MORE parts for the bitch.
But after a few days, I could tell the heat difference without the heat shield, so I re-installed it. It's a good thing to have installed. IMO.

Well without it installed you will start baking your power steering rack, and stuff back there will melt. Its there for a reason. I thought about wraps, but there isn't much to wrap back there. Its not a V8.
Looks like I'll have to search the yard, and maybe see if a metal shop can't fab me up a new one.

Some of the twin cams came with a kevlar type relective fabric that wrapped around the rack, I run both. Rack stays nice and cool.

Pat, something else you can look at is the bolts holding it down. Are they getting worn and loose as well? If so you can just pull the manifold, re-tap the holes with new bolts and put it back on. Should solve your problem
If thats not gonna work, send me a PM, theres about 3 in the yards here where i am.

Dunno if you ever got pics eric but i got shawn one and can post pics if you want. Its basically fabric that wraps around the center of the rack no need for any bolts or anything

Ive been running w/o a heat sheild for some time now. Vibrations broke holes out of the sheild around the bolts of my origional one.
My GTZ Z26 and the twincam all have ps heat wraps on them scavanged off of Grandams and the yard though which seem to be enough.
