14 inch rims to small?

Post by killa j 131 »

so i have some 14 inch american racing rims i want to throw on but would they look dumb i wanted to get some low profile tires for them i think maybe they are to small  to look cool and maybe to much space. or should i keep the stock rims on and just get low pro file tires for them? btw its a 94 z26 beretta. thanks

14's are going to look wrong for the car. My Corsi came with 14's stock and they got quickly replaced.

14 inch rims where also on older base berettas but i think you cant go with low profile tires...  I think the best one is when you go with 17" or 18" rims which you can go with low profile tires. Like 225/45/R17...

Well if you want 14s, than lower the car, except you want hide small animals in the wheel gap    J/K

*I* would take some bigger rims, but thats just me.

Hey American Racing rims are awesome what rims from them do you want to take? have a pic?

Correct.

Here's a link to a tire size calculator. Plug in the stock size and what you want and see if your speedo will be off.

Putting low profile tires on small wheels is not good, and it looks bad. The only reason bigger diameter wheels have low profile tires is to make up for the wheel size difference to keep the same outside diamter. In doing this the cars speedometer 'should' read near correct.

14's are not good for handling at all. I just run them in winter to mount a skinny tire to cut through the snow for more bite. But in corners they are terrible, and the tall sidewall makes the car lean and roll a lot.

Go with some nice 16's (z26 rims are nice) or if you want something bigger some 17's.

I totally agree. Im running my 14s right now with snows and the handling sucks, even with the eibachs/kybs. I cannot wait to throw the 17s back on
