You could change the offset to make sure they didnt hit the strut. They might be ok for crawling through the staging lanes and some straight-line blasts...but that would be all I'd use 'em for. Definitely swap them at the track, dont drive there.

i rubbed fender like a mother with 245's. even on the rears which has much more room for em. make sure you have like a 35 offset and you wont have to worry bout it

On size rim? 245-50-17 will probably rub strut

let me make more sense with my post, 35 offset will be the worst for street driving, because that will leave the rim pretty close to the fenderline, making the tire right there, but for the strip you'll be fine. i only rubbed on descent sized bumps with a 2" drop.

that was with 245/45/18

its a 245 50 16 tire, now finding a rim for cheap with a 35 offset will be the tough one. they are nitto 555r drag radials for 50 bucks. but yes only strip i will not be driving on them, i have stock ride height also. thanks for all who answered. now could someone find some cheap 35 offset rims for me or who has a pair in 16" form.

You're probably going to hit the spring perch with tires that tall...

As for the 245 width, I only rub mine on moderate bumps. If I remember right, I have a 24 offset on 8.5" wheels. (really a 62 offset with a 38 spacer)

i had, 205/75/15 on the front for a while. they didnt touch the strut or rub at all when turning but they sat really close to the struts.

i have 205/65/15 on now and no problems and my spedo is dam near dead on by the radar put up on the hydro poles coming into town here.

Speaking if this nonsense, I just ripped a tire on my back fender. Im only running 225/45/17 and I THINK 35mm offset 17x7 rims.

Im renting a roller this weekend

Well your only using them up front right? I can fit a lot up front. But with the rear disk swap and my wheels I need more room in the rear
