What else to do with heater core

Post by 89GTZ »

I need to replace my heater core and will be doing so soon. While taking things apart is there anything else I should be replacing while I have everything apart?

X2 on the hoses, then if it's been awhile, fresh antifreeze and a thermostat.

Check and make sure that the blend door is free moving. Mine sticks when it's cold out.

How do you guys replace the heater core on the 92 beretta? mine also went out recently. It is always back and forth with my 2 Berettas. I fix one car then the other has a problem.

Invest in a Chilton or Haynes manual from your local parts store.

From the parts store or rockauto.

I am looking for the plastic hoses that plug into the heater core and come out of the firewall. The only way I see you could only get them is by buying the whole heater core with the hoses.

Correct because the plastic hose is crap, it cracks. Its part of the heater core and the new ones are metal.

When they said hoses they were talking about the rubber that attaches to the core then to the engine metal pipes.
