Oil pressure bounces at idle

At idle the when warm and at a stop my oil pressure gauge bounces and continues to lower itself below half. My engine then feels like it's missing, and that's my guess. Is this normal when a coil is bad? I drive a 96' Z26 beretta in california. So far a new OEM MAF, OEM ICM.

Sometimes the gauge gets a little worn out. With that said I'd clean the MAF first. Check at night for a spark jumping from a coil. Then move on to plugs and wires if they have not been done in a long time.

Thanks for getting back to me. I also noticed a tick sound that happens right before the RPM's bog down. Maybe something to do with the evap? I think I read something about an evap causing some sort of problem like that

All ignition wires and plugs have been changed as well, my car was with my mechanic for awhile last month to get it back to running position. I am the new mechanic now

A lifter tick? Or something much more quiet? What year is your car and what engine does it have?

I'm not sure what a "lifter tick" is but it's almost like an electrical tick, almost like the sound of the initial cooling fan......I drive a 1996 Z26 with the 3.1 SFI, as stock as can be....I'm thinking it's a vacuum leak, the hose that connects the evap is dry and old so I'm going to swap it out and see what happens

Sounds like you are on the right track. Be sure to move the coolant overflow tank out of the way(no need to unhook the hoses) and check the lines that go to the vapor canister. They also tend to rot out right where they are connected to the canister.

So after I replaced the ICM, and replaced the coils with D555 delcos and swapped the cylinder 1 spark plug I bought some new wires from nappa and the missfire went away so after all the replacements and frustration I finally got it. It took me so long because this is my daily driver. So what was happening was the cylinder 1 boot was arching, thus the tick (arch) sound I was hearing when the engine would bog down. So happy to finally have my beretta running better, now it's ready for performance mods :)

P.s thank you for getting back to me
