Turn Signal Arm Spring

I recently installed a turnsignal/multi-function switch in the steering column of my '90 GT and it seems to be loose. I can indicate fine but I cannot pull/push it forward or back for highbeam. Is there a spring that controls this that I missed during install?

there's a rod that goes down to your switch on the column I had to adjust mine after I installed my switch too. ti's really easy follow the rod down to the switch loosen the two bolts move the switch toward the wheel tighten the bolts back finish.
