a/c issues in 90 GTZ

Post by ErichZ26 »

I am trying to get my a/c compressor to kick on in my 90GTZ. I have already evacuated, oiled and attempted to start the system. However, has anyone ever noticed that Quad 4's with the older a/c system do not have a low pressure switch? I am going to try to jump the compressor tomorrow. It is not getting power. The cooling fan IS turning on properly. Otherwise narrow my problem down to a HIGH pressure switch. There are 3 wires going to that. The circuit is supposed to be closed.

Any ideas? I am using my 91 service manual as my 90 is missing section 1.

I also noticed that 90 has 4 relays at the cowl mounting and 91 has 3 for Q4.

I added r134. There is pressure in the system.

One of the relays is for the A/C clutch. I think its the second one from the left.
