I have an AXRM chip, swapped it for a 93 scx chip awhile back. Need to have Jeff reprogram it to delete whatever light its looking for...

I had a 93 SCX chip in my 93 GTZ w/W41 way back when. The only side effect was my shift light went away, which I liked! :)

I'm curious if a 1992 W41 chip could be run in a 1993 ECM as well? It may not be a big deal, but am curious because I'd like to get the 5hp back that was lost in 1993 (obvious head and exhaust manifold change is also needed).

Do you really think you will feel 5 hp?
Not likely worth the expense IMHO.
Now if you happen across one that's free then why not I suppose.

Who knows, but spending ~$50 for 5hp sounds reasonable. If for nothing else, getting rid of the shift light is worth that! :)

The 93 SCX chip, when I tried one in my 90 didn't work. I traded for a 91 W41 chip that does work. However I don't run it because it puts the car into service mode. I'm not sure if you get the "full" 5hp with JUST the chip, but with the cams and chip you should get the full 10hp. Running the cams on a stock HO chip, there is still a good upgrade to the low end torque curve. When I did run the chip the upper end had a bit more pep. Maybe someone has dynoed it before/after?

What do you mean your shift light is gone?

Get a custom chip for your car; have it tuned. There are many more people out there now that are doing this as tuning is a necessity of engine modifications.

With my old 93 GTZ, I ran a 93 SCX chip and aside from the higher revs the factory shift light never lit up again... I guess the SCX doesn't have a shift light?

the SCX and W41 did not have shift lights to my knowledge...

or at least it seems it was left out in certain applications, maybe when combined with another RPO?

you ever hear w41 cams compared to h.o. cams? they sound bad ass. even on a stock muffler, they sound bad ass. plus you gain 10hp, every hp counts, it all ads up, a little here and a little there adds up.
