Hybrid motor

Post by jking18 »

Im looking to get more out of my engine without ruining my auto. Im really considering the top end of a 95 3100. This will all be temporary until i find a 5 speed donor car. My transmission is in good health still. I did have a couple of questions about building the motor. The main one is how to modify the throttle bracket to accept the tv cable. I will also need a complete list of parts needed. Im pretty sure its very close to a full on 3x00 swap. Any help is appreciated

If you want the top end of a 3100 let me know. I bought a 96 Cayenne Z and the 3100 in it has a bad bottom end but the top end is good

So you don't want to do the big port swap because the cam is for low end? I think that the 3100sp runners are just a little bigger than the 2.8/3.1L. The throttle body is a big problem! It's not just the linkage it's the loss of the vacuum port. Then there is the fact that the 3100/3400 TB is poor on flow(your straight wall TB is better).
Swapping in a 95 throttle cable would solve the linkage problem. But I'm not sure if you could get enough vacuum off the small port on the 3100 intake(it's by the injector harness and you would need a "T").
There are still at least two sets of Ben ported 2.8/3.1 intakes running around out there. I'm sure someone here has one and the other is on 60 degree. That would be your best bet and save alot of work and headaches.
